Since V1.2.1 update, a constant noise.

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 2:08 am

As soon as the v 1.2.1 update was installed, there has been a loud, distracting sound... much like a jet taxiing a runway that does not cease during gameplay.

I have cleared the app's cache and wiped any trace of Fallout Shelter from the device and then reinstalled but even with a fresh installation, as soon as my vault loads, the sound cuts out momentarily and when it re-initiates, the loud noise begins before the vault can even be seen on the screen.

It would seem that whatever was corrupted with the update, is transferable through the cloud save.

The noise is so loud and persistent that I can't hear the mystery man appear or disappear.

It's really made playing the game a bad experience.

Anybody else experience this issue?

Any suggestions as to how I might fix this issue?

Thanks.

UPDATE 10/31 16:10:

Just installed the cloud save onto an older Android and as suspected, the loud noise was imported along with game data.

I usually play without sound and have done since aboit two weeks in, but noticed this myself on the 3rd November. I had hoped it was some intentional, radio static, in-game thing (had my headphones on, hoping to hear something from Vault one-eleven!), but it doesn't seem to improve.

I would describe the sound as that of someone vacuuming, two rooms away or using a hairdryer next door. Distracting and annoying.

I am assuming that whatever the issue is, it is being stored as part of the save, as like OP I wiped all record of the app from both devices and reinstalled fresh - but the sound sticks with the save. Other vaults do not have the sound, and it only plays whilst IN the vault.

The sound is present on both my devices:

SAMSUNG SM-P900

Android 4.4.2

App V1.2

&

MOTO G G3 (2015) / XT1541

Android 5.1.1

Great app, thank you for the many hours of time I have wasted happily!

The sound you describe seems like the noise Mr. Handy makes as he's hovering back and forth on a level. Do you have any robots in your vault?

Is it the cap-collection sound they added in 1.2? Any time you earn caps now(rushed room, level up, dead raider) 1.2 plays an irritating high pitched warble. Version 1.1 didn't play that noise and it's been driving me nuts since 1.2 launched.

I get this same noise, and it started after I paid for Handys. It persisted even when the wasteland was the home for my Handys. Sounds like a vacuum/Hoover.

It's louder than the stranger noise by far.

The Handys have been kind of disappointing, but it's doubly irritating to pay for five Handys and get hit with a Hoover.

They need a way to automatically close these posts after they don't get responded to. I wonder if the forum software has something built in for that.
