Sincere Thank-You, Bethesda!

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:35 am

Dear developers,

I just read that once again you will be releasing mod tools with your upcoming release of Skyrim.

I just wanted to offer a heartfelt, sincere thank you. Many high profile game companies of late have been abandoning both the PC playing community and the Modding community, and it is a refreshing joy to hear you doing the exact opposite.

By doing so you will be perpetuating the enduring enjoyment users like myself get from your product, and continue to make us the excited and enthusiastic customers, and fans, that we are.

Thank you for thinking of us, Bethesda!

Not sure if that is sarcasm or not, but don't spoil this for people who agree please.

I agree with the OP

Not only an announcement, but - unlike previously - an early announcement. Puts an end to the angst we had with Fallout 3

I assume that he must mean it. The devs do look at these forums, and a heart-felt thank you from a fan must make them happy.

Welcome to the forums BTW.

I really don't think that developers have been abandoning the PC community and the modding community. It's just that time is money and spending extra time to give tools to modders to warp the game they had been working on for years, they just don't want to do it. I give Bethesda a big thumbs up because they still take the time to give the tools to us modders to make changes to the game. Now I'm not a big fan of some mods that warps the game from it's original path. Also sometimes people just change the game as a whole by using so many different mods that it truly isn't the original game anymore, it's their own game they made with the systems of the original game. I for one wouldn't like that people were completely changing the game I worked so hard on but that's my feelings towards the games I make, I'm sensitive about people doing that because I just feel like it's a slap to the face, because it's like that the game I made wasn't good at all and they had to change the whole thing to make it enjoyable hehe.

Hurray Bethesda, I'm looking forward to using your new amazing tool.
