Post » Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:05 am

Really, just one disk? L.A Norie was 3 disk and its barely the same size of Skyrim.

I'm not even going to bother explaining
Some one else please do it

Cutscenes eat up space. That's what it comes down too. TES are basically void of them, so it's not a problem.

@outlander Yea Microsoft doesn't allow a publisher to put a game on their console if it requires the HD. So devs can't even develop with that option in mind.

It's my understanding that L.A. Noire took up that much space because of all the facial capture data they had.

Besides, the open-world structure of TES and L.A. Noire are completely different. Multi-discs would not work with Elder Scrolls unless one was install only.

It's because of the tech they used for LA-N it was full of motion cap and renderings of real actors facial expressions.
Plus Xbox had a disc format update that gives them a full gig over the previous format.

At the risk of sounding ridiculous, how the hell would you be able to play an open-world game like Skyrim if it had 2 disks?! Which point would it tell you to swap them over?!

See if this game was designed to each platforms strengths, then PS3 could have tons more content due to blu ray and PC could have multiple disks/ digital download...then xbox could erm have an install only and if someone doesn't have a HDD then it's their own fault...

2 disks wouldn't be bad, Mass Effect 2 had them and there wasn't a single problem.

But Skyrim will only have one disk.

The crap would hit the fan if any Dev required you to install a disc to a hard-drive on any console. PS3 does this is in a very similar way but not the same it's not fully installed on you're HD.

@It Is I Masseffect isn't a Openworld RPG and it's full of cut-scenes

Bet you wish you had a PS3 now.

Remember the last reason they didn't have multiple NPC voices "it wouldn't fit on the disc". Same thing now because of your XBOX!

Him owning a PS3 would not change a thing. It's Microsofts fault for rushing out of the gate and sticking with an inferior data-storage device (dvd)

Please don't start a console war...if that's the way you want to play i'll turn into a PC Elitist. @ above Microsoft had HD disc or something but it failed when they compared it to Blu-ray. Both console are due for updating.

Its impossible because its an open world game, they would never do it plus Skyrim isn't the kind of game that needs more then one disc, the only reason other games like FF13 have that is because there loaded with hours of hd prerendered cutscenes.

It's all going to fit on one disc. I don't have a source, but I'm pretty sure that was confirmed.

Pete Hines said months ago "It should all be 1 disc"

That means nothing though because it will definetly be 1 disc because of the rules Microsoft place on games released on the 360. It can't require the need to download onto the HDD in order to play for example.
