Single Disc for Xbox 360 Version

Its impossible because its an open world game, they would never do it plus Skyrim.

Not impossible.

i find it rediculous that a game such as skyrim would require one disk even tho there so much [censored] on it in the game compared to other open world rpgs. i mean it would have to do some rediculous compression to fit in a dl dvd disc. and what? no cut scenes? is tha game even worth it then? i pity the xbox for not having blu ray.

Not impossible.

It is impossible to play the game how it was originally intended, if there was a "insert disc two" it would remove the entire seamless aspect.

Loading screens remove the entire seamless aspect.

I recall in Fallout spending 3 minutes of loading time just to get inside my house.

If your PC is old, you'll be waiting a good deal longer.

Oh not to mention that we can't play the game 24/7. Humans have to sleep and sleeping means turning off the system. Where's your seamlessness now?

Within reasonable bounds.... It's still a game after all. Three minute loading time wow you need to upgrade...or cut back on the clutter you store in you're house.

That's on PS3.

I doubt Skyrim will be faster (since they're saying there is more content... we can expect longer loading times right).

The Blu-Ray drive on the PS3 reads a lot slower than the Xbox 360’s DVD drive. Which is why they have redundant data on the discs – it’s why MGS4 filled the entire Blu-Ray. It was not tons of epic gameplay, it was just hours of video, plus redundant data. Unlike with movies, Blu-Ray’s space advantage is utter nonsense when it comes to gaming.

The 360 version will simply have slightly lower graphics settings, not lower-quality textures. Nothing about the game data will be different, period. Just dig though the PC files of Oblivion or Fallout -- they even include all the controller button-images for menus on consoles.

Guys there are no loading screens apparently! No screens between going into a dungeon!
Surely they can't do two discs now.

I bet you they'll scrap half the quests they can't fit on the disc into a DLC. Or make a patch on release that adds 1GB of stuff they cut.

Depends on the optimization of the engine, despite coming out a year later for PS3 it was still very early and they really didn't know much about the tools and engines of the generation. This time Bethesda has a much better understanding of the current tech and has much better tools and techniques to compress files and make them overall much more efficient.

i understand how a ps3 works (i have one but i wish to buy it for the pc). look at the graphics compared to other games. i would agree with you if this game is not graphically demanding, which they will most likely reduce the quality to console version or just the xbox to some degree, just to fit it in the disc. if they can fit it one disc either they didn't add that much content or they pulled a whodini and somehow compressed very good.

I've never liked 2 disk 360 games, they tend to cause glitches when you have both disks installed. I ran into a game breaking glitch on dead space 2 that went away after I uninstalled both disks. On a 10 hour game like ds2 thats fine, but if I didn't install skyrim I think my xbox would red ring after about a week.

While I know that is the reason, I find it hard to believe people still have an X-box without an HDD. I mean, they quit selling them like that ages ago. Besides the fact that if you want practically any DLC it would require an HDD. But of course there would be complaints if it required an install. Just wishful thinking on my part.

They still sell Xbox's without HDDs. The new Slim model comes with 4GB internal flash storage with the option to store a 250GB HDD.

Honestly........... I can see what point your getting at but I think quantity wise Skyrim will be far over BF3.

Doesn't it have to do with the compression? Didn't they also find a solution for Skyrim to have the audiofiles be much smaller in size and therefore more space for other things?
