single player DLC should be a prequel

I think it would be good if you played as Prophet, and explain why he is New York/what happened to Nomad and Psycho/how he happened to find Alcatraz.

Agreed. It will never happen though, sadly.

You're not counting the possibility of a fan-made prequel.

I think theres a good chance of single player expansion. The first Crysis had Warhead.

I think if the SP side gets any DLC its going to have to be prequel related. I am guessing it would begin with prophets arrival in New York and take you up to the starting point of crysis 2. Emotionally it would offer some interesting design possibilities for cry tek to explore - Given that the player already knows that suicide is how it ends. It would be interesting to see how they attempt to create the story arc.

What would be totally bad ass is if they released a coop DLC pack that centers around Nomad and Psycho. It could pick things up post warhead, story wise, and use the opportunity to tie up loose ends and answer questions - It would be fun as hell to play as well. The AI would need a MAJOR upgrade to make it challenging enough though. The story could focus on events leading up to the invasion.

Actually now that I am thinking about this a bit more it would make more sense to just fill this story gap with a standalone title. Since Prophet goes lone wolf his journey is perfect for the single player component, psycho and nomad would introduce true Co-Op play with its own unique story, and then for multi-player they could introduce 8-10 new maps. I'm dreaming when I say this, but when Sandbox gets released Cry Tek should follow Epic's lead and run a competition with the editor for multi-player maps. Make a nice prize pool and release the top 5 maps as part of the multi component in the prequel. Cryengine is not a heavily licensed engine yet so it would be huge for whoever wins. It could get the winners the exposure that they need to make in roads to developing professionally.

Well...I can dream can't i?

Instead of DLC how about a standalone expansion. You know, like they did with Warhead?

We don't need one. All of that was explained. Nomad and Psycho are both dead, Prophet was said to be the only one alive in his squad. We see the essential and main things Prophet does through his flashback back on the island (he didn't stay there for a LONG time you know). And we saw how he found Alcatraz at the VERY BEGINNING of the game.

It's not needed. Plus, let's wait for Crytek to finish the Sandbox Editor 3, CryENGINE SDK, and DX11. AND a few more bug fixes lol.

Well i wouldn't mind to see anything related to co-op, or even another Warhead-like expansion, but there isn't much to show when you think about it, everything that was left at the end pretty much aims for a sequel and not an expansion, just the way i see it though.
