Is the single player working on this if I go and purchase this (since the playstation network is down)? Most new games state there is some kind of software update needed when you first put the game in but if the network is down will it just update automatically at a later time when its back up? Also, will any unlocks etc be saved or lost when the network is back up? Very rarely do I play any single player games. Thanks much.

You can still download patches for most games even while PSN has been down. Single player still works from what I have seen. Nothing should be lost when the network comes back.

SIngle player works fine offline, and you get XP and unlock everything too. Then you can take your carachters online fully leveled and armed. You fight bots too if thats your thing, AI isnt too bad. It's still pretty fun, just cant wait to play online though. I guess your unlocks are saved on the hard drive.

Honestly, I wouldn't buy this until PSN is back online. The campaign in this game is very short and you will have your game sitting in its case for weeks seeing as how PSN won't be back up until the end of the month. Plus it might cost less then for brand new and it will def be less for used.

Anoying thing about playing offline here is that i keep getting a a connection error message every 3 minutes or so i opened a topic for this tho

I'm not having a problem with the offline error messages. Just at first game start. If you try to log in, and click back when it says "PSN is undergoing..." It wont error every few mins.
