single suit armor

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 5:30 am

Just saying, people know who their character is in their minds, they need to express it through their equipment. That's the way I see it.

Yes, with the generic suits, not only do you lose the customisation in terms of effectively designing your character, as well as the challenge of searching for different pieces of armour to improve your character, removing the graduality of progression, but you also become a simple cut/paste of a thousand other NPCs in the game.

Stop Whining and crying over armour slots. Why would some of you say: "I'm not buying Skyrim becuase of the single peice armour slots!" Okay than don't buy it no one cares, if you really want to miss out on the quests, factions, Daedric Princes, main quest, story, lore, exploring, ect. that Skyrim brings and not buy it just becuase of armour being a single peice than you're missing out. If thats true about the armour than I will be upset but I will keep in mind that its only a video game and there's still tons more + over - and way more stuff to do in the game. ^_^

People have a right to be concerned. And if it does turn out to be true (unlikely) they have a right to moan about it. It's not too late for aspects of the game to change, so constructive criticism is a good thing.

If this is true, it will severely lower my opinion of bethesda, customisation is a one of the things I love the mos about RPGs, majorly restricting customisation by removing single piece armour is very bad move, I'm hoping it's not true but if it is then I will be a saaaaad panda.

It will not, however, be enough to stop me from buying the game, I will be very disappointed though.

Even if there is one armour suit that I like and I continue to wear it through the whole game I probably get bored of it and then go onto feeling generic. Even Mass Effect 2 had multiple colour options and pieces of equipment and Mass Effect 2 was VERY linier.

Sorry, but no. I've stood up for removal of attributes, no birthsigns, no spellcrafting, and often argued with anyone who I think has slagged BGS off without justification. But I need to know if H2H as a skill being removed means you can't fight with your fists at all, and I need to know if armour is one piece or separate pieces.
If you can't have a bar room brawl without weapons, and armour is all full sets, then I will whine and cry as much as I bloody well please.
First Dragon Age 2, then Mass Effect 3 will concentrate on the action even more. Will I be forced to go back to Daggerfall to find some role-playing.

In that case they had better add Madness armour to Skyrim, or better yet, some Chaos armour.

Armor is such a central aspect of making a character your own, it would be a horrible casualty if this were true. It would be exactly the type of thing that intelligent people *should* rage about.

I'll wait for Pete's response to the tweet (his latest response, not the Fallout one - that's old), but this does instill some fear, and honestly, it seems very likely that even if some armor remains using the separate-pieces model, we may get other sets of armor or clothing that don't. The quote in context is hard to translate as a typo...

It's a bit hypocritical to complain about how much you hate people complaining, especially when it's entirely reasonable complaints.

Here is why its a mistake. How could single slot armor fit in with enchanting and the new leather work/ smithing profession?? It doesn't make sense!

I still think you guys are being reeaally oversensitve, but..I understand a little bit better, like, I hated how leather greaves looked, so I used others for that, and It did actually make it look way cooler, but think about it this way, we can craft clothing, they said, add colours maybe, maybe mix and match with crafting, so that one piece armor, becomes a one piece armor that has different styles of armor in it, if you know what I mean

And this is it for me. I've been fine with the other things that have upset some people. The good aspects outshine the bad so far in my opinion. But if we don't have armor slots AT ALL....thats ridiculous.

This is a major bummer for me
Why would they bring back enchantment as a skill if they are going to make its usefulness so limited?!
I want to enchant EVERYTHING!
If you arent going to be able to enchant multiple pieces of armor then I can only hope they allow you to wear more rings :(

If Pete Hines says that armor comes in multiple pieces, then armor comes in multiple pieces. I think PSM meant that pieces from an armor set are grouped together in our inventory, for easier access to armor sets.

This is obviously a prank. A good one I must say.

Here, Dragonborn1 quotes Pete about this.
Pete said "We aren't making a Fallout game".

And here the OP answer to that same quote.
that lacks the specifics that i need to hear to put my mind at rest.... e3 is very soon.... i hope we get an answer to this in the next week.

Aparently the quote was old, but it could not be more specific, obviously the OP is trying to avoid the panic being controled. So, is a prank.

How is disagreeing with a direction a game is taking being a cry baby? Not everyone that is saying they dislike one-piece-armors is saying they refuse to play the game. Some of us 'whining' are stating our opinions quite civilly without any of the drama that you seem to associate with people who have an issue. Maybe one or two people are being 'rawr I won't play', but the rest of us are having a discussion, and it really svcks when someone is calling you a crybaby for having a discussion.
