Sins of a Solar Empire

YES! It's been a long time since I've taken a dive into this game and it's sprawling matches. Finally we get a full expansion for the game, and it's looking to be pretty exciting. I wonder how big these super ships will be. http://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/ On that note, if anyone wishes to play let me know. I have both of the DLC.

I just got re-into the game. Forgot how great it is. I only have the entrenchment dlc though...never used diplomacy much except for racking up the bounty on enemy AIs. Glad a new expansion is coming though.

Whaa? I seriously wasn't expecting anything to happen to that game anymore. This is the best news since Skyrim announcement :celebration:

I know, it seemed like they finished. Though now that I recall they did plan for 3 things, just they decided to go with 2. Then changed their minds evidently and are doing a full expansion.

Ahh sins,I enjoyed it when it first came out, I even played some matches with someone from the forums although I can't remember who. I ended up losing my disc, though I do still have my cd key, but apparently that counts for nothing. Still for $40 its probably worth checking out for the two existing expansions, and in anticipation of another.

Ah, the excitement this week brings. ^_^
I'll buy it as soon as they put it on Steam.

Not going to happen. Stardock is a direct competitor - own DRM model and online store and all.

It's a mixture of 4x and real-time strategy. Three races wage war in space with massive fleets in maps the size of solar systems (Small one is a single solar system with few planets, largest ones can have dozens of stars. Not much story to it, but the gameplay is excellent.

And Impulse is like Steam, but better. You don't need to run it, or even have it installed to play the game. It has smaller selection though, but it includes software too, sadly plenty of games are only availabe for americans.

I ended up losing my disc, though I do still have my cd key, but apparently that counts for nothing.

You should be able to download the game with Impulse with the key. And i've heard that Stardock customer service can resolve these issues without requiring fingerprints and a DNA sample :P

It's tied to an impulse account isn't it? Or am I imagining, why can't you just download it? Or am I imagining.

I'll look into it, I can never get it to recognize the cd key, even though I'm staring at it in my lap.

I emailed them, but I've never dealt with Stardock support so we'll see what the turnaround is. $20 for the expansions isn't bad at all, I'll make sure I buy them if I get it sorted out.

I miss the 5 hour games I used to have. :P

Yea, it's epic. I've never played with an actual player, though I imagine it's fun.

I've played it Co-Op before, and it was pretty fun. I'm not very good at RTS games myself, but if you're interested, drop me a PM, and we can try to get a game going :goodjob:

Woah, this game looks really epic. It might be the game that pulls me away from EVE for a while. I would love to download and play it now, I'm just curious about this new expansion. Will it have the old expansions with it?

Wow, that's unexpected, I thought they were done with Sins expansions. It's a great game, maybe not a 4X as I'd have hoped but even as a pure RTS it's enjoyable. Maybe one of these days I'll actually get the expansions. Maybe one of these days we'll get that story mode after all.

I'm almost tempted to revisit the game, but there's so much I'm supposed to be doing in the near future, I doubt I'll have time. Alas.

I think I may be able to play a game at some point over this weekend if you want. It sort of depends on factors such as if I can get an essay extension and how reinstalling my operating systems on my computer goes.

It's inevitable they release a new bundled version with all of them. Though probably not at first, Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity is the complete package right now though. If we do decide to get a game going, it will have to be on the weekend.

Edit
Just checked, still have all of my sins games on my computer. So like I said, I'm free to play sometime this weekend unless other plans get made.

Depending on the time, I may be free. Friday night is probably out, but if there's an early game Saturday morning or something, I may be able to make it.

Let's mull on this until next week. See what players we can get interested for a game next weekend. So if anyone is interested me and Kveldulf will most likely be playing next weekend sometime.
