Sitting, herbology, etc.

I am hoping PCs can sit not only in chairs but also on the ground. This would make my characters feel more immersed and more comfortable. Who stands around all the time, especially in the wilderness?

Also am hoping I can carry a bedroll. What sort of adventurer doesn't carry at least a bedroll? Visible backpacks and tents would also be great.

thanks

p.s. the herbs in Oblivion were for the most part right on. With a few exceptions (including Gates-of-Oblivion herbs), herbs were properly named and depicted as per our natural world. Bethesda obviously consulted a botanist and got fine details accurate... details like petal number, petal color, leaf arrangement and leaf shape. For me this added tremendously to the game and I'd love to see Skyrim be completely botanically accurate (although I know Nirnroot makes a return and don't mind).

You guys are the best

thanks again

What's wrong with having herbs that are not real? This isn't Earth.

Well I think your average player will never know the difference. You need to be able to visually identify these plants based on their characteristics or the point is moot... I could show you motherwort and call it viper's bugloss and you wouldn't know the difference.... You wouldn't know if it's from earth or tamriel or wherever...

If herbs are not designed according to how they actually occur then they're just designed arbitrarily... This is how most games approach them and for me it doesn't ring as true.

The only thing you need to know about the herbs in the game is how you can use them for alchemy. As long as your able to see the affects of the herb, how it looks and the name is totally up to the developer, especially since its a different world.

If they have a plant that looks nothing like Earth plants and a name that does not belong to Earth plants, how does that make them arbitrarily designed? They become unique flora of the Elder Scrolls world, and add flavour to the environment. Saying they should all be the same as Earth ones is like saying we should only have human races because elves, Khajiits, Argonians and Orcs are not real.

I'd like a mixture of plants with: earth name, earth looks and effects similiar to the ones on earth or completely made up in every way. I would not like plants with the same name as one on our planet but looks different or vice versa.

True, an adventurer without a bedroll isn't an adventurer at all. Also building your own fire place, and sitting next to it to cook food in the wilderness would be neat.
