Sitting in the back seat...

I'm sure you understand the topics name, but what I mean is what if you can put people in the back of horses ala red dead redemption. This would be good for evil characters I believe

This would be great, they could make themselves useful and shoot some arrows.

He means if you can hogtie them and place them on the back of your horse, which seems too cowboy-ish to me

Yes! :goodjob:
I suggested this in the past too, it makes things considerably easier especially for the escorting quests.

Ah I get it now, it's cowboyish indeed, I hoped it was making a horse like the two seated mounts in WOW.

I want to be able to turn people in to the law, and real functioning prisons would be a plus. I also want traps for my house that can disable people who try to steal my stuff without killing them, and then I would like to have the option to interrogate, turn them in, or let them die.

I wouldn't mind the option of catching a ride with somebody else on the road. Medieval hitchhiking, anyone?

I'm okay with it as long as I get to decide which seat to take.

Why not have the option for both? If you want to kill, then kill.

Yes, there is a horse in the trailer.

Do you see anyone riding the horse?

There hasn't been any official confirmation that horses are in the game, or rideable, at this point. Until they know for sure they will be able to do what they want with horses, they aren't going to say that horses will be in the game.

...are you being serious right now?
There is a horse in the trailer. Doesn't that in itself pretty much confirm that there will be horses in the game?
Rideable, sure, that's debatable, as it hasn't been confirmed in any way, shape, or form, but the fact that a horse is IN the trailer, that proves it for me that horses will be in Skyrim. I see no reason as to why they would include something in the official trailer that isn't going to be in the game.
If they weren't sure of having horses in the game, it wouldn't be in the trailer.

Bethesda has been known to cut things from their games that were in the official trailers in the past.

Not saying you're wrong, but it's also very possible that it won't make it into the game. Think about it, what if they don't get it working as a mount (which Todd confirmed in the GI Q&A that they haven't yet)? What are people going to complain about more? No horses at all, or horses that aren't ridable.
