six, children, and marriage

I play videogames to get AWAY from things like children and marriage.

Even the slightest possibility that this game could incorporate anything from the Fable series ( :flamethrower: ) makes me a scared panda.

Not "yes like Fable 3", I want "yes like Skyrim". So it's yes to all questions, but I don't know and don't exactly care how they were in Fable 3.

There are hundreds of things I would rather Bethesda include than turning TES into a dating sim.

six = no.
Marraige = no.
For children I put other - I want them in the game, but I don't want the PC to have kids, if that makes sense.

six: maybe. I'd definitely want romance, and while romantic fiction/fantasy doesn't require six, six can be a part of this style of storytelling. An epic romance, daft and unrealistic as it may be, can be great fun and I think would fit in fine with the world of The Elder Scrolls - so long as the love-interest character was also a daring adventurer, who could be a companion on your character's adventures. Or a rival for money/fame/glory; that could work too :).

Children: not in the sense of 'your character can have children and look after them and watch them grow up'. That wouldn't fit in the sort of rootles, wandering lives that characters in Elder Scrolls adventures usually have.

Marriage: see my answer for 'six' above :). However, romantic fantasy generally ends with marriage rather than continuing on with it.

It's a pity that a good portion of the people who Skyrim is targeted at haven't played old school RPGs (2000 and before), and as a result have pretty low standards. There is nothing in Fable that ought to be copied in any other RPG. If you're going to draw inspiration from non-TES games might as well look at the classics (BG 1&2, FO 1&2 etc).

No romance or marriage please, such issues are far too complex to deal with properly without them becoming a central part of the game, wich would not fit the TES series or the setting of Skyrim in particular. The last thing I want is yet another game that narrows everything down to some corny adolescent fantasy. Wich by the way is not at all how things work in real life, used to work in the Middle Ages, or would work in any conceivable human society even, so it adds no realism or immersion, it's just there to provide insecure teenagers with a sense of achievement.

I wouldn't mind six if it is done in a way that fits the world (The Witcher did that pretty well). I wouldn't mind visiting a brothel or having fun with some random tavern maid.

...

Didn't The Witcher's six scenes basically boil down to "surprise! six!", and then you got a collector's card with the woman's picture on?

Yeah. That in TES please. Fits the world so well.

The poll is kind of broken, there can be six, marriage and boobs in an original way not necessarily Fable way. I for one would greatly enjoy things like boobs and six and they don't have to be a must do. For the people who say "if you want A go play B": if the [censored]s are only in the brothels, and you don't need [censored]s in your Skyrim, you can ignore the brothels. Did I mention boobs? Like The Witcher, not like Fable.

I voted "other for all" but I′m not gonna write anything about my opinions, only reason I voted other in all is because you tied the only "yes" answer to another game, a "yes" is fine, it does not have to be "yes like game X" because that limits it to the spirit of a different game.

So yeah, yes to all but this is a bad poll because there is no proper yes choice.

No. Casual six fitted both the character (legendary lover) and the world quite well. What I mean is something that would be as fit for Skyrim as six in Witcher was for Witcher.

Right. In that case, care to elaborate? As you've basically just tripped my pet peeve: you've said, in a roundabout way, "maybe if it was done right".

I don't want to sound rude. I'm genuinely curious as to what kind of six scenes you would deem appropriate for Skyrim.

Meeeeeeh, romance + marriage perhaps but it doesn't seem very Elder Scrolls to me.
And six, nah. Same reason.
I'm pretty sure children are confirmed to be in, but I wouldn't want any of my own in the game.
Also Fable romance etc. = :sadvaultboy:

Thats something I have been thinking about for a while. Firstly, brothels would not be a bad idea because they have always existed in most human civilizations in one form or another. Secondly, I would definately want six to be approached more casually, something that would grasp your attention for a short time and then you could get on with saving the world. I would definitely not want it to be as "available" in The Witcher, but much, much more rare (perhaps a couple of characters in the entire game). As I said earlier, Geralt was a legendary lover so it was to be expected that six would be omnipresent in that game, but that would simply not work for TES as you already pointed out.

Basically, I would not mind if some limited sixual content was added as a very rare, short time distraction, and only if the characters involved and the dialogue was interesting, fun, and original. Perhaps an odd looking adventurer you meet in a tavern some night, perhaps someone whose ultimate goals will not be unscrupulous and might involve a long chain quest after that (for example, if he/she stole something very important from you or set you up etc). Perhaps someone ultimately unimportant but with a well written character and dialogue. There are endless options really, but the basic thing for me is 1. keep it original and fun and 2. do not let it affect the game in an important fashion, just add some very rare diversity.

You say yes to kids but no to six? How do you think kids are made? and everyone is always [censored]ing about realizism.. isnt marriage, six, and children realistic? six might not be realistic for some of you though. :hubbahubba:

Most people say yes to kids as in, "yes, I want to have kids in the game.", not as "yes, I want to be able to have my own kids."... The poll doesn't describe it well enough...

Yes I would like all these options in the game. Everything that makes the world feel complex and alive has my vote, and that doesn't necessarily mean I'm gonna get married. It's just the comfortable feeling to know I'm playing a game with many built in options.
