six?

If it would be implemented in a mature, artistic way, then I vote yes.

If it would be implemented childishly then I vote no.

Fallout new vegas has six, but why would we wanna see a cyber babe if we can just get a girl friend and pleasure her. Now i think this is stupid because it shows no point because why would anyone wanna get hard over a game come on for real i say it's way to immature. That's why they should put adopt a child in the game not sha-da-bang-bang-bang.

I think six is fine in a more advlt game like Fallout, but the Elder Scrolls universe is pretty sixless. I'm not sure the people of Tamriel even have genitals.

No I don't want six and No I don't think it is childish to ask. I liked it in Fable II, but I care so little about it I'd rather they didn't go down that slope.

It's not really a great thing for a game, all it does is make people feel a way they shouldn't over a cyber game. If you really want six in game im suggesting you play fable 3.

really six, no way, image a 13 year old kid wanting to get this game and the parents see two people going at it, that game is as good as gone. And really just leave it for all of the pervert modifiers.

Just to clarify, the game looks like it's expected to be 17+ rated in the states, and 18+ in Europe. So it's would be illegal for a store to sell it to a 13 year old, and any parent who buys a Mature rated game for a minor needs to be answering a few serious questions - especially if they don't have a very clear idea of why the game is rated as Mature!

To be honest (and this is directed to a bunch of posters above), I'm somewhat puzzled by the instant assumption that the only way six can be included in a role-play game is as pormography. Bioware have no problem including it, and they're hardly producing sad gratification for lonely teenagers - I can think of few things less erotic than the romances in Mass Effect and Dragon's Age.

[edit]
Whether they added to those games is debatable. Some of the romance dialogue was funny :).

It's not illegal in the states to sell mature rated games to minors. It's commonly against store policies though.

I think romances require a lot of resources to be done well (and to satisfy different preferences). While they can be fun, I think that in Bioware games they've gone from being a bit of added fun to becoming too much of a game focus, a case of the tail wagging the dog. I'd much rather Bethesda worked on making NPCs in general seem more individual and alive.

Ah, my mistake, sorry. Too Eurocentric, that's my problem :).

Does the same apply to other entertainment media? Is it legal to sell advlt films to minors in the states? Indeed, are there differences between states (it's easy for us strange folk across the water to forget the distinction between state law and federal law :whistling:)?

California tried to restrict the sale of video games to minors. Now there's a supreme court case about whether states or the government CAN make such a regulation.

I don't know of any federal restrictions on the sale of advlt media to minors, but such sales are commonly against store policy. State governments might have an interest in such restrictions though.

I don't think it's necessary, and it especially doesn't fit with the aesthetic of the Elder Scrolls. six in games should be saved for simulation games (or stimulation games as it seems), and is only good for procreation (horrible thought right?) and for horny teenagers to feel satisfied when they're not really getting any in real life.

I like this one - the NPCs in TES aren't really famous for their depth, and I think if six (relationships) were to be implemented, there would have to be a lot of work done to get it good. Maybe they've managed it, maybe they haven't; I won't be disappointed in the least if it's not there. But at the same time, if it is revealed that it is in the game, I won't feel it goes against my morals or that I will lose my innocence by playing it. :) But tbh, I would rather have all the stuff TES is known for (MQ, SQs, beautiful open world etc.) improved, rather than an ingame boyfriend. Especially if the pillow talk revolved around mudcrabs :yucky:

yeh like no one lies when they are buying a game, I mean probably half the people are underage that play 18+ game, if you ever go on multiplayer on any of them you can constantly hear 6 year olds shouting.

A bit of romance, yes. A bit of innuendo, yes, someone wanting to steal a kiss on the side of the road, yes a book with lusty material, yes. Graphic six or fade to black scenes...no.

Yeah,

I always thought they did pretty well in the suggestion department. Enough that you realized the world was actually a world, but it wasn't awkwardly shoved in your face expecting praise for its mildly offensive odor.

Funny this.

Morrowind greatly benefited from a mod called Better Bodies, as the the mod was created by true artistic types it came with full nudity. Titter-titter... Well, no. Not only was the fully nvde corpse far from titillating, I found it had an immediate effect on my game play. I wouldn't think twice about stripping a corpse down to sack-cloth underwear but faced with robbing my recent victims down to the skin they were born with I found myself far more likely to leave them a final shred of dignity. Morality through nudity, heh, there must be a book in there somewhere :)

It's hardly an immature concept if that's what you're asking.
But it is totally unecassary in a game... I'm sure that Bethesda would never be so stupid.

This all the way.

I voted for not immature, but also for no.

As long as it done tastefully and discreetly i dont see a problem. Perhaps something like TES 1 ARENA with street hokers coming up to one in the cold streets and then some suggestive play similar to what there was in THE WITCHER without going over the top. Leave the hardcoe visual situations though for Modders. Wouldnt want TES V SKYRIM to get an x-rating now would we?

Might be good to have a on and off option similar to the FALLOUT NEW VEGAS hardcoe Mode for those not wanting it. The hokers might still be in the street during off mode but all they'll do is ask without it going any further like in TES 1 ARENA.

If Oblivion is anything to go by, Bethesda don't need to take time to implement it because the moders will put it in. I don't think its necessary though, I can think of better things to do in a game than just sit there and watch some pixels go at it. What purpose would it serve? Would it really be necessary to take the time and effort to develop and implement all th necessary components to make it an important part of the game rather than a gimmick? I don't think so.

Essentially I think Bethesda should pass over this concept and leave it for the inevitable mod to arise.

My point (which I agree I didn't put clearly enough) is that this is a product aimed at a mature audience, so it's suitability for an underage audience shouldn't be a consideration. If it is a consideration, then by the same argument all entertainment should be made suitable for children, and I really don't think we want to go down that road.
