It could be an adoption or something, whatever it is the problem is easily fixed and as you say, there'll be alternate starts.
And here I thought I wasn't going to have anything to do today! Imma make some popcorn and watch this thread impolde! What fun!
Please just let it go. Your character has a pre-determined past and that's it. If you wanna be gay, you can do it after you leave the vault. It's very simple.
This. Maybe there were no gay rights in the fallout world like in our world. In this case this would make sense. Just because you are married don't mean you are hetero.
Reply upon modifications to the game to solve this issue, that you experience, like everyone else when they encounter an issue. I don't like pre-determined paths either, unless they provide excellent story, so I simply modify the game to represent that. Or you can wait for someone else to do a public release of such an idea. (Tends to happen quickly.)
Maybe, maybe not. I saw the option for changing six on a character, did that just change who stood in front of the mirror or did that change the six of the person in front of the mirror? If it changed the six of the person in front of the mirror it could allow you to make same six couples with a child. how did they get a child? presumably they adopted, used a surrogate or a sperm donor depending on gender and or your own head canon.

BioWare make super games, what a silly thing to say.
That said, the Fallout 4 announcement presentation has increased my anticipation, Bethesda look to have done a good job.
DA2, ME3 etc is ample evidence to the contrary.
This games aren't bad. Really. Just because some people dislike the ending of ME3...
Personally I'd rather just dispense with the romance crap ... it's never done well in games anyhow, particularly open world games where the player is telling his own story.
As to his having a wife and baby ... I imagine it must be something of a horror to have to play someone who's genetic makeup resulted in the choice of a mate that he or she could reproduce with! That's not what the reproductive system is for! I imagine little people are likewise disturbed that they have to play someone of average height, and that the Deaf community feel alienated having to play a character who can both speak and hear instead of properly communicating through sign.
Some people will complain about anything.
You've been a victim of a nucler explosion, barely made out alive; even if you had a past that past is now gone. Even if you were heterosixual you could become gay, even if you were a pacifist you could become a murderer psyco. Shock is a terrible thing; it mess with your brain.
I could write an epic fecal hurricane response but I am busy eating cereal in my opponents house.
Bioware made fantastic games, EA Bioware, not so much.
Deep down you're gay. You get married as a cover. 200 years later now you can indulge in your homosixual life style.
I still don't like this choice being imposed on a game that as Todd Howard said "You can create any kind of character you want" and "Player freedom remains our absolute number 1 goal." As for being gay afterwards, I assume that will be choice but I see that as bad writing if they can't put in an easy fix. The fact is there have been gay relationships and families forever REGARDLESS of legality or social acceptance. It's easier to imagine a gay relationship working in that time than for gamers to UN-imagine a straight one for proper role playing after the wake up. It's a ridiculous choice on the part of the developers.
We need to remember that Fallout is a re-imagining of the 1950's vision of the future. Makes sense that everything is all Ozzie and Harriet.
Dibs on a Cyborg dragon ninja/mage!
In fact, NOW I DEMAND IT! Equal representation for cyborg dragon ninja/mags! Imma get my lawers! My cyborg dragon ninja/mage brothers and sister have been oppressed for too long!
No romance whatsoever please, only six. If you want to be gay; [censored] a dude, if you don't; [censored] a girl and vice versa.
Problem solved. 1st world problem.
But please no "I've always wanted to come out" line. It would ruin the immersion for me if I had that line in my disposal. I'd be like; "Dude, you're goin' full closet homo on me right now. I don't dig that."
All I want is immersion in a believable, dynamic world. I kind of doubt you meant it as a compliment, don't compare gays to stupid fantasy mash ups that would completely break the lore. Gays make up for around 5-10% of the population, they should be included. In Fallout 4 there are going to be 100s of character, it would just be unrealistic to not include characters with other sixual orientations or gender identities, no matter your specific political bias. Horrible part on the writers to not include, not for moral or political reasons, just realism and immersion ones. Just think, this way all the homophobes can kill all the gay characters, it's a win-win really.
But what if the game preset that your character was gay and that was part of the background? I imagine a lot of people would be up in arms they had to play a gay character.
This isn't an issue for most players, but it's part of a larger issue with too much of a preset back story for me. I like my Fallout games to have a lot of wiggle room in terms of character background - New Vegas was fantastic for this, FO3 was meh. Again, not end of the world but it suggests Bethesda is going in a direction where you are playing a preset character rather than yourself or your own character.
1- If you want immersion in a believable, dynamic world, go outside. This is a game world where radiation only lasts a few hundred years and giant devil lizards fight robots. Believable went out the window a long time ago.
2- Would it have hurt you a little less if I'd said albinos, or parapalegic? What about a coma patient? Should we have that option too? At what point is the percent too small to matter? How about just having a baseline majority in there, and letting players customize their experiance with mods as they see fit.
3-Have they released a list of the sixuality of every in game character yet? No, because this is just a game, and it doesn't matter. This is not horrible anything on the writers part. It is something that players can fill in with head canon as they see fit.
well i think whoever doont play as is dead i think they you were the only survivor 111. so i think that free the plaayer
