I can't seem to sleep, as tired as I am. So I'll give it a try tonight.

Edit:
Just got to trying it out. No CTDs! But, it has changed all greetings to "AAG". Topics work fine, just the greetings are messed up.

Something was borked at upload, it seems. The esp is apparently only partially there... I didn't even touch the greetings... Yet, I can download it fine, no errors. Super-weird. I'll check it out and re-upload sometime soon.

[edit] Eh... FilePlanet is having issues... I've re-saved and re-uploaded a new file (_23b) but FP is giving me errors. They should have it settled by tomorrow morning. In the meantime, here's a MediaFire linkRemoved.

I'm just curious why I was able to download the same file as you, twice, with no glitches. Could it be my browser cache? What program are you using to unzip the archive? I used 7zip to package it.

Just downloaded 2.3b (from both sites) and I'm still having problems. I opened it up in TESAME and it's http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/3824/13831734.jpg MWEE did for Drackolus, over on PES. When I cast the spell it allowed me to choose the position of the bars, but I couldn't lock anyone in; everytime I cast the spell, either looking at an NPC, creature, or nothing, it always brought up the position box again. I didn't notice any dialogue errors, though.

Unzipped with 7zip. It wasn't a new game though. Will try the mediafire link + new game.

Edit:
No luck still. Tried with (almost, better bodies/heads and quickchar) no mods + new game and still got the greeting.

I took a look in MWEdit and not seeing any greetings either.

Uploaded a new version, 24c. I ran it through the CS a couple of times and cleaned it with MWEdit, and then double-checked. At first, it was fine, but then after loading it again, I got some errors about the "rat" topic, which had been filled with the title of a journal topic that I had long ago cleaned from the mod. Somehow, this one topic was reporting over every other topic despite being locked to a single NPC ID. /bonk.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':bonk:' /> Also, I recompiled everything.

For clarification, the mod contains 8 globals, 5 scripts, 2 start scripts, a spell, and nothing else. Yes, the book is gone.

Downloading now and if it works well I'll report back tomorrow after playing for the next couple hours. /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Edit:
The greeting is gone now. But I'll have to go through my mod list and find out which npcs do not work with AAG.

Out of curiosity, will you still leave the one that doesn't have the persistence statusbar for download?

Good to hear! I did not upload a version without the persistence option, if I remember correctly. (And my memory often fails.) I can upload the previous versions of the mod. Now that I think about it, did older versions have the mod-added companion crashes like the latest ones?

And I just found my old stuff for a "drunken" shader for NOM!

I uploaded the previous versions of Status Bars I had on disk. I'm going to start putting up test versions of the mod to help root out what exactly is causing problems. First up, Test 1: Trying to determine whether the status bars script is the one with problems. Anyone who helps will get my appreciation (lots of it) and a thousand points!

[edit] Once again, directions would probably be good. Just use it like normal, testing companions, including mod-added ones. The bars won't show up, but if it doesn't crash, then that's step one.

Whatever you did, it works for me now! No more CTD, though the magicka bar keeps changing. I'm 95% sure that's because the magicka is actually erratically changing, since it was doing things like that before. Only, then I couldn't see it before. Huzzah!

Wonderful news! For clarity's sake, which version is now working for you? And what do you mean by erratically changing? Is it jumping back and forth between max and something else?

Got an odd problem. Start a new game and as soon as it gets passed the intro video(whether skipped or played) gives me this error statement in regards to zsHBars2: Trying to run function greater then function count. It then says the script will stop running and asks me if i wish to continue running MW. I have the latest version but also got this same error with 2.0 but not with 1.1b.(I am only just now looking into it) On a side note, enchanted editor tells me the references are miscounted in the header.

Sorry Tarius, I missed your question. It's a good thing you bumped it /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Honestly, I don't know why the zsHbars2 script gives errors--it seems to be random. For example, I tested the mod a moment ago and I received no errors, yet when I tested it a week ago I had the same result you are having. No change in the file. The source of the problem seems to be MGE's functions. Thank you for reminding me about this. I need to rewrite it.

In the meantime, http://www.mediafire.com/?yo66mabxavh9v1y and see if it behaves any differently.

Tried the test version and still does exactly the same thing.

This might be useful: http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=3191
Fliggerty explains the error

Usually means that there is a function from Trib or BM that the script was not compiled with...ie you didn't load all of the masters. Try compiling the script with MWEdit and see if it works.

Of course considering I am running everything required.
Perhaps try to compile the script like he says?

Yeah, Fliggerty tends to give good advice. I also tried saving it in the CS to see if that had an effect. Tell me how it works: http://www.mediafire.com/?2ss3fabthszpp2q.

Drat. Well, I've been looking, and I think I may have a possible solution. MGE seems to have a few problems with text strings. I'll get back to you.

[edit] Try it out and let me know if there is a difference, please: http://www.mediafire.com/?jytvqcoqlarcgu2

Seemingly the same thing happens. Not sure if this effect is due to this or not, but this time I decided to proceed past the error and everything was frozen. Could move the mouse and hit esc and all, but the game decided nothing was going to happen, I was just stuck staring at Jiub.

Okay, drastic measures time. Try this version, please: http://www.mediafire.com/?6bck8fs3l3nsu6i. It won't actually work--I just need to see if you can get into the game without an error. If you can, try casting the Companion Insight spell. If you can't... tell me. The bars won't appear, but the script should at least run. I have no idea what could be happening to your game, though. Jiub never said anything? I don't see how my mod could affect that. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Thank you for your patience on this, Tarius. This mod would not have gone anywhere without your spurring me. /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

The jiub thing was likely Immersive Chargen, I turned it off anyway but have yet to actually try playing it.

As for the spell, nope, didnt seem to work. Got the same error. I did get into the game without the error though, it only happened after I cast the spell.

I think I know exactly whats causing it, but why it would do it now and not before I have no idea. I am using an external version of MWSE instead of MGE internal version. I used to use the internal version but switched because for whatever reason it actually increases my frame rate and the game runs smoother. I had your mod before and after this and it worked fine both times, until of course I went to use an updated version of this. So for whatever reason, the 11b version works fine with external for me but not the most up to date version. The last time I read the readme except to see the updates for this was quite a while ago and since switching between the MWSE versions caused no obvious errors, I didnt realize anything was wrong. Sorry about that. Oops...the wonders of coding...

Hmm... I'm actually surprised that the external version worked with the mod at all! That's good news. If it worked for the older versions, that means that using the external MWSE does not cause a (major) problem. This gives me an idea as to what the problem is.

On the other hand, not using the MGE internal MWSE is probably why the game didn't recognize the functions. The external is missing something, but still has enough to do the job for the older mod. /banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' />

Alright, I have a couple ideas. It will take a while to make it work, though.

Is there a version of 'At-A-Glance Companion Status Bars' that works with MGE XE? With PES down I can't seem to find a link to v2.4 of the mod.
