[RELz/WIPz] skaeps' Stuff

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 2:31 pm

A forum thread. More info? [yn] (y) _

[RELz]
? At-A-Glance Companion Staus Bars v2.4!
Companion care made easy. With the press of a button, you can enable a secondary HUD that will display your companion's health, magicka, and fatigue!

The ultimate in companion care. Keep track of what you need to know, in real time and in full accuracy. Updated to improve stability and performance.

Testing for the next version! Please help if you can. See the last page for more info.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YrMrYvAaJA (earlier version, but visually identical)

? Tribunal Menu Replacer
This is a mod which will replace the Morrowind logo video and main menu background with a custom-made video and background modeled after the theme of the Tribunal.

Menu goodness. Requires the Morrowind Code Patch 1.8 (or newer) with the menu/splash screen fix. Otherwise, this replacer will look terrible, bleh! There are three versions.

Download via http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8508
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVeLyhHVQTw (version 2 - Morrowind and Tribunal)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5tdQqgogM8 (version 3 - Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon)
Version 1 is Morrowind only. I don't have a video of it, sorry.

? Icon Video Tutorial
A video tutorial on how to make a weapon or armor or item icon, using only the CS and Paint.NET. I couldn't find any others, and nature abhors a void.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRm5fUbjfWg

? General Purpose Shader Script
This mod contains a script which will pass your current Health, Fatigue, and Magicka as a percentage to any MGE shader you choose.

Useful for screen effects that change as your status changes. For example, a Call Of Duty-style edge fader. Also great for anyone planning on learning MGE scripting. Nearly useless in its default state, this is more a modders' resource.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ummtDVB7f3A (example)

? In Game Shader Chain
This mod will allow you to control a chain of shaders individually from inside the game without the need to exit and open MGE. It does this by way of an item that when equipped will present a menu with options to toggle any single shader or disable all of them. The names displayed on the in-game menu can be customized.

For those people who like to work with shaders with minimal loss of sanity. Also great for "Kodak moments." Line up shot, enable shaders, take screenshot, disable shaders and reclaim your FPS. So tasty!

[WIPz]
? End of Days (a Majora's Mask nostalgia mod)
Do you remember The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask? This mod is a little nostalgic wink to that game. It emulates that hyper-dramatic "Bell Toll" sequence when the clock strikes 6:00 a.m.

Mostly Entirely for novelty at this point, I plan to add to this later.

Some nifty stuff here.

Lolz for the Daggerfall HUD, I'll have to try that for nostalgia sake!
The health bars are cool too.

Off topic, glad to see your http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7474 ;)

Tribunal Menu Replacer New!

Finally done! Requires the Morrowind Code Patch 1.8 (or newer) with the menu/splash screen fix. Otherwise, this replacer will look terrible, bleh!

Download via Pending Elder Scrolls.com

Hmmm, not sure if I am much a fan of having the word 'Tribunal' written low on the menu like that. Will the original version you showcased that was lacking that addition be in the release as well - I would personally much prefer it?

Anyways, good stuff here, looking forward to following some of these up and comers as well :)

Some cool scripting here (and interesting WIP projects!) but what I really like is the Tribunal menu replacer. Very nice job on that!

I really like that menu replacer! Could you have a version that doesn't have the Tribunal logo though? (Just the MW one)

Thanks, everyone! At the moment, the release just has the menu in the video. I can redo the original and upload that as well, it won't be hard. I'm actually starting to dislike the Tribunal logo too since I've started using it. I don't know why, it does seem a little off.

? Random HUD Stuff
Having fun with the HUD. Stuff like http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/9114/loldf3.jpg is entirely possible. Really, anything is possible since MGe can draw anything onto the screen. The only real problem right now is how to get the default HUD out of the way.

Now I just need to set the mipmap LOD bias in MGE to 10 and the entire game will look like Daggerfall!

I recreated the older Tribunal intro, it looks better than before, and added a new one. There are now three versions: one for Morrowind; one for Morrowind and Tribunal; and one for Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. Only the M+T version will have the second logo written below. So now we're just waiting for Pending Elder Scrolls to publish it.

The thread where I keep all of my stuff. Much more pleasant for everyone involved.

? Oblivion-style Lockpicking
Oh snap, can he do that!? As vtastek occasionally reminds me whilst he plots great things, anything is possible in Morrowind. With a little help from MGE, mind you. Currently awaiting some advancements with MGE.

Great stuff skaeps, I mean really you're creating more opportunities to turn my dreams into realities, now I can come up with even more crazy things.

And what about a plot twist:

And Oblivion has a Morrowind-style lockpicking mod. I guess we all want our games to be the other.

We are doing it because we can. :) Seriously though, I don't want to write that shader. It is hard although the real hard work is the script mechanism which skaeps agreed to do. I will go with Fligg's bashing mod any day. :P

If we do it, we should improve it. Maybe Fallout style lockpicking? What would be a good alternative to Morrowind's lockpicking, if we can do it interactively?

Maybe we need to ask Hrnchamd about disabling UI. There are a few problems if you use the console to do it.

*It re enables on cell load
*You loose the menu
*You loose the visual of your character sheet
*You loose your list of items

Those are the problems I see if we disable the UI. We need a way to only disable parts of the UI.

And if so, could the same technique be used to add decal textures to diseased characters, to give them spots, boils, and bruised areas?

It might be. Saint_Jiub took the screenshot, so he's probably using it. You, ah, wouldn't happen to have a link to that replacer, would ya? :)

:ahhh:

Haha, oh wow. Now that's nice. Which reminds me, whatever happened to starwarsguy's menu? In fact, whatever happened to starwarsguy!? He's the one who inspired me to make menus.

We are doing it because we can. :)

We do what we must. Be-cause. We-can. :D

No, that was just a concept. Texture hooking is... a little odd, and there's complications with it. I'll take a second look at it if I can.

I'm not sure. I don't know if MGE can hook textures to models on the fly. I'll take a look.

I tried it and I found it awesome.

Since I couldn't find a way to PM you (I'm new on board :) ), I wanted to ask wether I could re-upload this mod on a french website for Morrowind / Oblivion / Fallout 3 mods called http://forum.wiwiland.net/index.php?act=home ? Because you know, most of the french community goes on that website to get mod rather than PES (many .esp mod-based are uncompatible with the french version of the game). Of course every credits will be yours.

Hum, and please forgive me if I made any mistake, as you must have guessed it, I'm french. :)

EDIT : you can answer by PM (if there's any).

As long as the video and the texture are unchanged, then you have full permission to re-upload it to Wiwiland. You may, of course, rename or translate any of the files if need be, but I ask that you please include a copy of the English readme in the archive.

For future reference, you can PM someone by clicking the envelope icon under their name, or by visiting their profile page and clicking Send me a message.

(I wanted to post this in the thread as a way to keep track of it. )

It seems that I may be able to merge my Shader Script health/fatigue/magicka mechanism into my health bar WIP. Which means that you can have an entire HUD for a companion, one bar for each stat, that updates in real time. Guh-roovy!

My question to you all is,
A. What colors should I make the bars? Should I use the regular red, blue, and green like the normal HUD, or should I use a different set of colors? I thought the normal colors might be a little confusing.

B. Where should I put the bars? I was planning to put them http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/4364/mgescreenshot387.png. It looks out of place if you disable one of those HUD elements, though. I'm looking at a way to make the positions customizable, but suggestions are welcome since I just want to get it functioning first for a release candidate.

Thanks for all the feedback on the Tribunal menu! :D 102 downloads! (as of 6/25/10)

Definitely g-to-the-r-to-the-double-o-to-the-v-to-the-y-hup!

A. The yellow bars look good, but maybe tint them with a slight hint of the standard colors.
B. I like where you have them from that screenshot.

B)

Very cool.

Why not keep the colors the same as the PC bars? I don't think anyone would confuse the two. Or how about same colors with a little transparency, if that's possible.

I also like where its placed in the screenshot.

Anyway, since I'm here, thanks for the menu replacer. Love it.

Now that would be useful! As for colors, the yellow you have shown there would work fine for me; you could tell what's what by order.
