Skill kill compilation!

Post » Sat Mar 12, 2011 11:50 pm

Hello folks!

I want to make a challange for you, or to say it better, I want to make a videos with dozens of skilled kills.

And here I need you! What about recording a bit of gameplay? Show us your skill moves, upload it to a filesharer and then I will edit them to a big video and post in in here. With Credits and names in the scenes of course.

What I think of Skill Kills:

- well placed headshots
- air stomp kills
- stealth kills
- slide kills
- multikills
- good melee kills (not just 2 hits from behind)
- "busted" kills

I'd appreciate any submissions. You can use any gun you want, any mode. Just give me some fancy kills.

PS: It doesn't matter how good you are, or how big your k/d is, anyone can participate. Just record yourself playing.

PPS: Here's a tip. Encode the videos before you upload them, or you like to upload dozens of gigabytes.

How you make an HD Video of your footage with FRAPS:

- Set FRAPS Recording properties to full size recording
- Set the ingame Resolution to 1280 x 720 (default HD size (720p) and gives more Performance then in 1080p)
- Try to keep the HD files when encoding/converting the AVI files to a smaller file format

Have fun!

EDIT: Here's the list of people I got videos from:

- Myself
- Darth Hova
- Masterdid69
- lbiteyl
- Decadef/Ionstorm
- PhiL1139
- darkgrey

So, Darth Hova send me some videos but that's clearly not enough. C'mon people, don't you wanna show some skill to other people? Where are the usual showoffs? ;)

Windows Live Movie Maker is just enough. Drag and Drop the videos and "save film". Then it should encode it to wmv. ;)

Well, i would make vids with X-Fire. They have a nice quali, but they are very big (5 min = 10 gig). I'll try to cut the Skill-Scenes out and pack them into a rar-package and upload them somewere. I'll send you the link, when i'm ready.

It's gonna be tough to play and record at the same time, plus my monitor is 5:4 ratio. I'll see what i can do. When does your video have to be done?

I cropped them in Photoshop to look widescreen so the HUD wouldn't be in the way. Actually half the pics I posted were 5:4.

Hm... Well, I then just have to stretch the video. But so that this can be done with good quality, your resolution height should be 720 pixels, so it doesn't look overstretched.

I don't have a time limit, I'm gathering videos, form them together in one big video, and when I filled the length of the music file I chose (around 7 minutes) I will announce the release of the videos.

Do you mind if the top and bottom gets clipped off? (so that it will fit in 720 height without stretching)

This can be fixed with Sony Vegas, sure I don't mind. :)

Do the videos need sound? I'm guessing no.

Sorry to say this but I probably cant be in your video because of low HD space, but I might have enough for 1 match. :<

You can do 1 match, upload it, delete the file and then another match. I have time. ^^

Cool idea :)
Do you know how to make FRAPS not split videos in parts while recording? Cause when they split, it lags for a couple seconds.
