[REQ] Skill Trainers

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:07 pm

Hi All.

Been thinking for a while now about All That Gold you've sweated Blood and Tears to earn, just to have it swallowed up paying for Training.

Question?

Would it be possible for one of you genius Mod makers, Be able to make some kind of Mod that Once you Reach Master Level of your Skills that allowed the player to become a Trainer,So That they can Get there Gold back?

If it can not be done. No harm Asking. :)

Kindest Regards.

Well, it would be relatively easy to make a dialogue topic for when you talk to an NPC (something like "offer training") that would take into account their build (to determine if they'd want the skill) as well as random chance and the luck attribute to see if they'd actually pay for it, and then personality, luck, and their level in that skill to determine how much they would pay for it (of course checking that they had that much money to begin). I hate working with dialogue, so I'm not volunteering for this, but in answer to your quastion; if what I just described would suffice, then yes, it is possible.

Hey I'd be all for it, anything that adds new ways to get gold besides dungeon crawling!

I don't think the average NPC carries much on him. :D

Yeah, robbin-er, "Training" NPCs in any way is kinda moot when you can get at most ten gold on a good lif- er, "Training Session".
Though if one were to make a mod that makes richer looking NPCs actually richer(check the worth of their outfit, for example, and check if it is armor/enchanted, then if they have passed a certain threshold add a smack ton of coinage, possibly adding more coinage when it passes higher thresholds).

The player being able to train is one way of getting money.

A better idea might be to add some travel packages to the trainers so that after you give them your money they head into town and spend it at the shops and pubs. Give you the money back by way of selling stuff to the merchants. This would go along nicely with Enhanced Economy's change to merchant/trainers that makes the training money available for bartering.
