Skills you've never "perked".

Post » Sun May 26, 2013 9:16 am

I've been playing Skyrim almost since it was released. Over countless games and characters, I realised there are some skills I never invest any perks in.

They are: Alteration.

Block

Lockpicking

Pickpocket

Speech.

How about you?

Two Handed, Block, and Heavy Armor.

As you can guess, I only play Mage and Light characters.

I perk lockpicking even though I dont need to.
I put perks into anything if I have perk points left after perking my main skills.

Lockpicking.

You weren't kidding when you said you deeply specialize with your characters.

I've perked them all depending on the character type...

But for my current jack-of-all-trades I've not touched lockpicking or pickpocket only... Enchantments basically sort those out if absolutely necessary...

Lockpicking

Block

Those are the only two Skills I've never put even a single Perk point into.

Lockpicking: Why? You don't need Perks in it except for RP purposes. As long as you can handle the mini-game, every lock is your for the opening.

Block: Never played a Sword-n-Board in Skyrim. If I'm not running a Two-handed annihilator, then I'm dual-wielding.

Lockpicking and Two Handed.

I'm surprised people picked Alteration. It's a really good school.

Lockpicking

Pickpocket

Illusion

Conjuration

Restoration

Alteration

Heavy armor

Blocking

A few things I've only perked once or twice. Level 61 and I have 4 perks still to use when I decide where I want them.

Of the skills I use: lock pick and enchant don't get perks. I rarely perk sneak and speech, too.

I haven't really used illusion, alteration, pickpocket, or two-handed yet, so never perked them.

But my current has 4 perks in sneak and I'm thinking about perking up speech to see if it is any fun.

I don't know how you've never done block before haha. To me, block is probably one of the most useful perk trees in the game, but that's just my opinion.

I've now played around 2000 hours of Skyrim, and some skills ive never spent a single perk into are:

Speech

Lockpick

Pickpocket

and that's it. Everything else I have used before, these three trees seemed the most useless to me. Speech and pickpocket have some redeemable qualities to them, but ive never brought myself to spend the few perks in order to get them.

Lockpick on the other hand is a completely useless perk tree in basically every way. Though most of my characters end up with 100 lockpick without using a single perk. (May god have mercy on the soul of whoever spends a perk on "make novice locks easier")
