Skinning issues

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:16 am

I've spent hours attempting to retexture glass armor, but I can't get it to work. I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything properly.

1. I have my custom .NIFs in Data Files\meshes\A
2. I have my custom .BMPs in Data Files\Textures

3. I have connected my NIFs to the appropriate BMPs using niftexture -- repeatedly

4. I have connected my nifs to new body parts in the CS
5. I have connected my body parts to my custom armor pieces, and the ground NIFs as well.

but the armor still looks exactly like standard glass armor

mods installed: mgegui, darker morrowind, betterbodies, some high def weapons and armour mod

what is going on! I just want to finish my armor so I can get done scripting my quest!!@

Thanks in advance

is your armor mod a plugin?

try disabling it.

also, you can make a plugin for your armor, just change the glass armor art file in the construction set, and save as a new plugin (i'm assuming this is the way an item replacer plugin is created, if i'm wrong, someone please correct me)

bear in mind i dont do much with weapons or art resources, so i could be totally off the wall here.

Never dump custom files directly into the base folders. Your custom .nif should be in ..\Data Files\Meshes\RKA (or whatever initials you want to use). Your custom .dds or .tga files should be in ..\Data Files\Textures\RKA (again whatever initials you want to use.) It is very inconsiderate to polute the Textures folder with even more than it already contains.
