I was reading (and posting) http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1233917-making-clothingarmour-out-of-argoniankajiit-skinfur/ on skinning Khajiits/Argonians and was wondering if Dunmer, during the TESIII time when the beast races were slaves, would skin their slaves and use their hide/fur/skin for practical uses like making parchment, belts, clothing, fibre for thread, etc... Is that something the dark elves would do? I mean, elves obviously don't like the beast races (I think all races hate one another actually). And slaves are treated like property, not as people. I think it would suit the atmosphere of the game very well. It would give the feeling that beast races really are considered inferior to the elves in the land of the Dunmer.
I'm asking because I have some ideas for Pelagiad Expanded mod where some of the craftsmen use Khajiit/Argonian hides/skins for making some of their crafts. Who knows, maybe Khajiit skin is great for making very thin but durable vellum/parchment. Or perhaps Argonian scales, when sanded down, make very strong belts.
I wouldn't want to put something like that in the mod if people were going to say "That wouldn't happen from a lore perspective, Tes!"
I'll have to run it by Regaez, too since he and I are the only ones working on PE.
What are your thoughts, guys?
