Hey guys, I'm making a new spear and I want to make the characters on it have a glow map. Now, I've followed a few tutorials online but everytime it makes the whole texture bright. My glow map is black except for the characters on the blade.

Is there a step I'm skipping somewhere?

By the way, I added the glow map with Nifskope.

UPDATE: Ok. So I realized the actual texture itself was just very bright. So I darkened it and the glow maps show up except only in a light source. How do I fix this so it shows all the time?
