I am having a problem in that EVERY time I start Skyrim, and Steam runs an update (of Steam, NOT Skyrim), then SKSE doesn't work. I have to exit Skyrim, and re-install SKSE to make it work.

WTF is wrong with Steam? And just WHY does Steam need a dam 50 - 200 Mb update EVERY SINGLE DAY?

this didnt' always happen. Last time I played Skyrim(last year), no problem except when Skyrim was actually patched, even though Steam it self gets updated "often" (wasn't once per day last year).

But I just started a new game last week, and EVERY SINGLE DAY I have the same problem. So, the unavoidable conclusion is that Steam is doing something wrong.

I just had Steam update yesterday myself and SKSE continues to work perfectly in my game. You might be running into some other problem.

I was beginning to suspect that, since I couldn't find any posts with with the issue.

I've downloaded SKSE twice, it is the latest version. Skyrim itself is updated, as are all mods. What is weird is that the exct same mod configuration (unless some mods were updated automatically, which is certainly possible) was NOT having this issue last year.

Any suggestions appreciated

Yeah, I haven't seen a steam update in over a month. Might try reinstalling steam, after moving your games that is.

Huh?? I see one every day, which I thought was a bit extreme - are you sure, cause it can update pretty fast?! Shelly Mars got a Steam update yesterday also

Sounds like the steam update may be failing so it keeps trying every day.

Sounding likely, but I do get a message saying update complete, close window, everytime

I may try re-installing Steam, it's only a minor annoyance, but the annoyance effect seems to be cumlative - the more it happens, the more I get p!$$ed off

Just to make sure, is Steam running before you try use SKSE?
