Skull of Corruption. *SPOILERS*

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 9:44 pm

So what does it do? I tried using it on this Battlemage dude, and it didn't seem like it was doing anything.

And yes, I decided to become a bastard by killing the Mara priest as guided by the Daedric Prince of Dreams.

First time, he destroyed it, but then I figured - "Why do that? What do I care if some NPCs have bad dreams when I can get more powerful Daedric artifacts?!"

But anyway, I'm not seeing the effect of the weapon. Though, I have only used it once on the Battlemage, but as I said it didn't seem to do anything.

Info?

Spoiler
Even if you take the staff, the nightmares end.

Never used the staff tho.

Now I haven't used it much yet with my character who opted to get it, so someone else could provide some better testimony as to it's effectiveness, but it's powered by the dreams of others. You can use the staff on sleeping people to absorb their nightmares and raise the staff's power. So find a place with lots of sleeping people (the College would be a good spot) and stock up on nightmares.

From others' posts, its supposed to be pretty powerful if you can charge it with dreams.

First of all, there is an all-caps "DO NOT POST SPOILERS ON THIS BOARD" thread stickied at the top. Secondly, it does extra damage on sleeping people.

First of all: True, spoilers should be marked as such.

Secondly:
Spoiler
No it doesn't. It charges with the dreams of sleeping people to get more powerful

Well it has the big word, "SPOILERS," in the title. So unless you're an idiot you can expect spoilers.

And I didn't know about a spoilers section.

Secondly, it does extra damage on sleeping people.

That's not what it does at all.

When used on someone that is sleeping, you gain a charge. If charges are available during combat, each attack with the staff will do increased damage and expend one charge.

So it's useful, I take it? I didn't want to kill the Dunmer Mara worshipper, but my character is named Kain World-Reaver, obviously based on Kain from Legacy of Kain, so when he gets the opportunity to seize a powerful artifact he FREAKIN TAKES IT!!!!!

It's damage is on par with other staves and has an interesting mechanic you won't find anywhere else. I've never found staves to be very useful, but I've also never built a character around using them.

Even if you don't use it, picking it up is progress toward an achievement if that interests you.

It makes a neat sound when used.

Come to think of it, I don't quite remember where I put the Skull of Corruption. I hope I didn't sell it as I may have sold the Sanguine Rose by accident. :(

I find the Skull to be extremely effective. It ignores armor and can inflict splash damage, making it a force to be reckoned with when fully charged
