Skyedit Error after 1.4

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 3:30 am

ERROR: Failed to find Skyrim's install path in the Windows registry!
It worked fine right before the 1.4 patch. Anyone else have this issue?

Copy your install to another folder, backup your .ini's, reinstall. Then copy your moved install over the new one, and replace your ini files.

Yeah, that's probably the easiest way. Really tiresome though. If they'd just let me patch it myself I'm sure it would never screw up.

Edit the ini file that comes with skyedit: skyedit.ini. There is a line to specify the path to the game under "Startup options". Also, make sure you remove the ; ( semicolon in English?) at the beginning of the line where you specify the path.

I got this a couple of nights ago after backing out the beta patch. found out that my registry keys for Skyrim had been removed. This is not a skyedit issue, but a patch rollback issue.

I never had the beta patch and I had the registry key issue, so it's not necessarily a rollback problem.
