[Spoilers] Skyrim Achievements

Post » Wed Oct 05, 2011 8:13 pm

@Ragamuffin

True. If they didn't do achievements, they'd be in trouble. But why show them off before confirming you're doing them...?

It doesn't matter. Most of the achievements are listed as "complete x quest" for factions we already knew were going to be in the game. And the ones that aren't are things like reach x level or do this x number of times no real spoilers. It isn't like seeing these achievements is going to be a deal breaker for most people. In fact the achievements are very similar to Fallout New Vegas's achievements

@Ragamuffin

I didn't know that. But I have a game or two for 360 that don't have any achievements... they're pretty old games, but I wonder if they got in trouble for that? Do you know why they require achievements?

I asked Pete for a confirmation and he said:

@DCDeacon Hi Pete! Are these true? xbox360achievements.org/game/elder-scr…

@toney_linarez Yup, it appears so.

What games are those? As far as I remember it was required from launch. As for why, just so the score has some meaning probably. Full retail games can only have 1000pts without dlc, XLA games get only 200 or 250, forget at the moment.

OMG. I was going to restrain myself from reading the achievements but you seemed to spoil some of them for me...

I wonder how they get the achievements so early, is it some sort of marketing trick on the developer's part?

Then why did you come to this thread and start reading the comments? Sort of a risky move for someone who doesnt want to see spoilers.

I would expect people in these forums to put the Spoiler tags to their intended use; rather than using them on 'signatures' by putting one inside another inside another, etc.

But you didn't want the achievements spoiled, so why come to the thread that has posted? What did you think ppl were going to discuss?

Why the hell is everyone so paranoid about there being spoilers in that list? I read through the whole thing, and unless you consider the names of quests "spoilers" then there are none. Besides, it's not like when you get the game that you aren't going to go straight to the list to look at them.

I think that is for the Civil War, after all one of the trophies is:

Spoiler
about choosing between joining the Stormcloaks or the Imperial Legion

I came, in part, to confirm that these "achievements" promised in the thread title were true. The other side of me wanted to click the link and spoil it (the game) away, but the fore managed to keep me on these forums, only looking at the replies as a way to validate the credibility of the findings.

I guess I could credit this problem to myself for being so utterly skeptical of people's findings, but that is hardly fair. :sadvaultboy:

JK, I'm not really mad about some of the spoilers. At least not as annoyed as I am to myself to actually reading them. :foodndrink:
