Skyrim age certificate

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:40 am

I remember having to make up a very long winded excuse to get Oblivion on launch day.

I convinced the GAME employee that I was buying it for my dad as he loves games & that I was the oldest one in the family & that my parents were divorced & that my mother wouldn't buy it for him as she hated him.

Long winded indeed.

So I was wondering what age rating Skyrim will be. It'll obviously depend on the content, I wonder what level of maturity that'll warrant.

The French version of the video gives a tentative 18 rating for Skyrim.

PEGI has already given TESV and 18+ rating, so I'm pretty sure the ESRB will be an M (17+).

I chose 15 purely because that's what it says on my OB box. I thought that games tended not to go up in ratings, but just had a look and MW is rated 12+, so it could go higher I suppose.

I reckon 18 in Europe, M rated in the US.

That is, exactly the same rating as Oblivion :).

[edit]
Huh. My mistake, I could have sworn Oblivion was 18 rated. Getting it mixed up with the Witcher, probably

Feels good living in a country where no one cares about age ratings

Anyway, I wouldn't really know. Considering Morrowind was 12+, Oblivion was 16+, and Fallout 3 was 18+... (in Europe, at least)

I'm guessing 16+. Yeah, FO3 was 18+, but I'm guessing TESV - not trying to make it sound bad or anything - will be a bit more "kid-friendly".

No they haven't. If you look at the age rating it has TBC across it meaning they have no idea what age it will be.

I think 16/15.

Well Morrowind was rated T... Oblivion was rated M... and Fallout 3 (rated M) is one of the most bloodiest and goriest games I have seen from next generation games. I think it's a safe bet Bethesda will continue the tradition and this game will definitely be rated M 18+ as it should be.

Skyrim will get an M rating more than likely. Can't see it getting a T rating.

There's an easy way to find out. Delete your cookies and go to the Elderscrolls website. Enter a birth year of 1998 and keep subtracting years until it lets you in.

Always wonderd about EU games, does that mean a 12 year old is able to play MW? I wonder why that is when it is 17+ in the states?

On Topic: I would think M rated, I know most have been Teen but it looks darker from the teaser trailer so more than likly M, doesn't matter to me though since I can get:)

And wasn't Oblivion rated Teen when it came out on Release day? Because I know the CE of it was the first thing that came out when it was released and my CE is rated Teen O__O

Okay, my bad... they expect an 18+ rating. I do also expect an 18+ rating.

I want blood, dismemberment, obsessive drug use and all that. I wouldn't do them in real life so i expect a game to deliver the goods. :mohawk:

I don't really care for rating, as well as everybody in my country. I've always buyed 18+ games being much younger. And the rating system is quite ridiculous I think, at least here in Brazil. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is rated 16 here and it says "realistic blood, tension, and strong realistic violence", but the game doesn't even have blood
