Well if it follows the other TES games and most of Beths other games it will be 17+ Its usually because of blood and advlt themes throughout. Sorry about the strict parents, but then again mine were strict too so you just either have to find a friend that has the game or wait a few years

The rating isn't confirmed yet, but it more than likely is going to be M or 18+ or whatever.

That's why I love my parents :D

Sorry, I shouldn't brag. But it's probably gonna be rated M/18/17+/whatever.

Well, don't know what to tell you, I'm fourteen and I have already pre-ordered Skyrim.....but yes, it will likely be rated M, no doubt.

I sure hope this doesn't turn into one of those "ZOMG!! SEEING BLOOD WILL MAKE OUR CHILDRENZ INTUZ CEREAL KILLAHZZ!!!" threads.

The 18+ rating is the estimated PEGI rating, that's the rating system that's used in most European countries.
The ESRB rating is pending, but I'm guessing it will be rated M (or 17+ if you want).

I don't know where you live OP, so I don't know which rating is most relevant for you.

Its unrated as of yet, but it will be M without a doubt in my mind even from the G4 Video there was more blood then I seen in Oblivion un-modded pretty sure they moved over everything else aswell.

But ya too bad it's your parents decision and not anyone else's concern.. I could play rated M games since I was a wee tiny kid at 3 but I understand how some folks think it could impact their children!!!!

Look on the bright side 11.11.11 Minecraft is goin gold.

svcks for you, I'm actually the same age but my parents aren't strict, they don't need to be because I've never been a trouble-kid.

Anyway, I actually pre-ordered it, my dad said he'd even let me take a day off school just to play it.

svcks to be you kid =X the only reason its rated pegi18 *its rated that here in the UK* is because there are acts of violence and blood, but no GORE. Maybe you can convince your parents since its not an all out gorefest like fo3 was... Theres no guts splattering everywhere ect, just old fashioned fantasy violence =)

If that still doesnt work, i suggest hiring the dark brotherhood to... Take care of your parent problem~

Well even if they cut back on everything and anything they'll still woun't get a rating lower than 15+... So at 13 waiting for a couple of years for good games seems to be unavoidable, unless your parents decide other-ways.

And enjoy when your parents throw it (and your gaming system) in the trash for trying to circumvent the rules they've laid out for you.

The ratings are guidelines; no matter the rating, it is up to your parents to decide if you can play any individual game.

As an aside, taking the advice of someone who thinks it's great for parents to partake in illegal substances with children is not the best of plans. That is how the welfare recipient of tomorrow is made.

Oblivion was rated M (that's 17+). Skyrim will most likely be rated the same. If you got to play Oblivion, I don't see any good reason they shouldn't let you play Skyrim. Now, if you are European, there might be a problem. Oblivion was PEGI 16, Skyrim will most likely be PEGI 18 in Europe.

"And I really think, if anything, there is more evidence to show that the violent games reduce aggression and violence. There have actually been some studies about that, that it’s cathartic. If you go to QuakeCon and you walk by and you see the people there [and compare that to] a random cross section of a college campus, you’re probably going to find a more peaceful crowd of people at the gaming convention. I think it’s at worst neutral and potentially positive." - John Carmack

If anything, violent games make the player less aggressive by making them let out their stress into bandits and skooma smugglers. Or at least this is the case for me.

OT: Skyrim will most likely be rated M. I am sure that if you talk to your parents that you will be able to persuade them to buy it for you. If all else fails, ask for it for a Christmas(or whatever mid winter Holiday you celebrate) present.
