Skyrim and it's perk tree

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:37 am

So the way that Skyrim uses perks sounds an awful lot like the Talent Trees used in WoW.

Don't believe me? http://www.wowhead.com/talent#I

Now, if this is how the actual idea will work or not isn't entirely known yet but from what I've heard it sounds like this is what it is going to be close to. Hopefully it will be balanced by what skills we increase and the 288 perks should add a lot of replay value.

Just thought ya'll would like to know :turtle:

Yeah, it's not exclusive to WoW though.
Many games use skill trees. :o

EDIT: My post has a lack of random animals in it. :frog:

just like they were inspired by Bioshock possibly being inspired by WoW is a good thing, it's not like they're being inspired by Shaq-Fu... /shutter

I was originally going to name this "Skyrim sure is borrowing a lot of Ideas" but it seemed too long :sadvaultboy:

Not that borrowing ideas is bad but I like some sort of revolutionary ideas

As long as they use the shorter Cataclysm trees and not the horrendous Wrath trees, I'm fine with that :P

I like how you start fairly broad and then how you specilise later into the game.
I think it will replace some of the purchased spells though...

I see your WoW talent and raise you by D&D feats. Anyone care to bid higher on the claim of originality ? Get it while it′s hot!

While they're ripping the good ideas from Fallout I'd like them to take Damage Threshold from New Vegas alongside the pure percentage form of Damage Resistance.

I second the notion that the perks are closer to D&D 3&4 edition's feats, which preceded WoW by 15 years, and Fallout by 8

Surprisingly me being a pc-elites tand total skeptic I LOVE THIS IDEA. Mainly because it removes the needs of having "skills" for axes maces ect while still having deeper aspects of said different weapons blah blah blah ect im tired and high.

Oh and it's ripping it from D&D so Please continue, my good sir..
