Skyrim and Racism

Khajiits only act superior in Oblivion if you have a bad disposition with them. Then again I played a Khajiit so I didn't experience it as other races.

Everyone on this forum hates Kirov Class.

Pretty much. Considering he has made 4 topics and in all 4 many people have called him a troll, and they have all been locked :D

Argonians hate Dark elves

I think it's going to be a bit backwards this time around, remember that Morrowind is now pretty much a Black Marsh territory.

It's been two hundred years as well. If the Khajiit and Argonians are not as long lived, this generation might not remember the inexcusable bigotry and hardships of slavery the Dunmer society inflicted on their ancestors. Conversely if some former slave owners of the long lived Dunmer escaped would some be bitter about their backwards society collapsing? Would some actually feel remorse for what they've done in the past?

I think it should be far more interesting than a spreadsheet of what each race feels for each other. Individual feelings for characters should be far more important than that. If it's as simple as one race almost always hating certain other races that's just not interesting to me. Them writing in individual quests and stories however could give it depth.

That Table isnt very reliable in reference to lore. There is no way the Altmer are neutral to the Nords.

Orcs I think in general might be wary of every race with the exeption of the beast races. I think they would be a least neutral to them.
Bretons are the Altmer of the human race. They think they are superior, but I dont think they are particularly hateful to anyone (except maybe Orcs).
Imperials should be neutral to everyone within the empire (but with the change of events, that might only include the humans and Orcs now).
Reguards like the elves better than other humans I believe. I think they may hate Orcs as well.
Dunmer are [censored]s.....but especially to Nords and beast races.
Altmer are also [censored]s......but its a more equal distribution with perhaps the execption of Bosmer.
Bosmer I imagine would have problems with the beast races, but I think for the most part they dont particularly care about the other races too much.
Khajiit problably have no problems with the Argonians or the Orcs, but hate Dunmer and are wary of everyone else.
Argonian are the same as Khajiit for the most part, but are even bigger enemies with the Dunmer.

This is how I interpret the relationships anyway. As was said before, these last 200 years are really starting to strain and change former alliances.

I find it funny that I dont really see any of the races being particularly friendly. At best they just tolerate each other.
Though I could see a Breton-Imperial-Nord alliance, Altmer-Bosmer alliance, Khajiit-Argonian alliance (possible but might just stay neutral), Redguard being neutral, Dunmer just trying to survive, and Orcs are the wildcard.

I think the Imperial loyalists, at least if they hold the old Imperial values, are likely to be more tolerant of all the races. The Empire's goal, at least in the past, was to bring stability to the entire continent right? The loyalists probably favor a strong Empire with little racial bias.

Of course things have changed. It's very possible the the Empire is extremely different than the Empire we once knew. Depending on how different it is it's totally unknown how things will look. One possible scenario is the looming threat of the Altmeri Dominion.

I could see a post Skyrim situation in which the Aldmeri Dominion (which as of The Infernal City controls Summerset Isle and Valenwood) is a huge threat to most of the races. The Aldmeri Dominion's goal is Altmer domination of the entire continent. This would be beneficial for only the Altmer, with the Bosmer as only subservient allies. This falls right in line with many Nords holding a negative view of the mer. I could definitely see loyalists to the Empire in Skyrim trying to preserve the Empire as an alliance as opposition to the Aldmeri Dominion to prevent it from overrunning the continent.
