skyrim and the girlfriend.....

Post » Wed Aug 03, 2011 7:55 pm

My girlfriend isn't a fan, good thing I'll be at university so it is more of a case of study or Skyrim.

Same here.

My girlfriend hates Skyrim, she's gunna hate it even more when it comes out though and I'm nowhere to be found :D (Not saying I'm breaking up with her, just 'disappearing' for a while :P)

My girlfriend is a fan of the franchise so she's also looking forward to play Skyrim. We will probably make up a schedule so she will play it when I study and I will play it when she works. But even with that said she haven't been waiting to play it for 5 years like me.

My girlfriend likes to watch me play games. I don't have to warn her about 11.11.11 because fortunately Skyrim is singleplayer, I can pause, save etc. No sweat...

I deleted a few posts that were unnecessary and derailing the thread. Behave, be nice or begone.

Lets just say I don't think she is going to be too pleased when I spend more time playing that than spending time with her haha.
Skyrim comes first.

You should be spending more time with your girlfriend than a video game in all honesty, why spend more time with something lifeless than somebody full of love?

THANK YOU!!!

Someone here shares my point of view at least.

You'd think this forum is only inhabited by straight men and/or homosixual women, judging from the OP. Luckily that still includes me.

I don't have a relationship though, but if I did, I don't think they'd mind.

In all honesty you shouldent blow off your spouse for a week to play a video game. And they shouldent ban you from playing, you should be able to reach a agreement that splits your time between your two loves.

My wife "understands" the pc-nerd part of me and usually nods and goes "uhum" in a very polite manner. Occaionally she even listen for real ;)

So when the missus sleeps, the two kids are tucked in and the dog is drooling under my desk and the cat upon it. Skyrim will be abused, played, enjoyed, emerged into and savoured fully :)

(I never play when the kids are awake.. Don't ever wanna say "Hi loved son and daughter, Daddy loves you, but my own personal enjoyment comes first" )

I wonder how many of these partners actually meant it when they said that they enjoyed watching them...

So Skyrim is loveless and lifeless? Bethesda didn't put any love into the game, and its just a dull, boring game?

Does anyone else have a girlfriend/boyfriend or equivalent who isn't interested in gaming?
I've gotten her into soft games but generally no interest. Unfortunately there seems to be antipathy towards Elder Scrolls. I guess we can't have it all.

My last two have asked me to play so they can watch me. The thing that makes it engaging is to make them a part of the experience, show them interesting things you've found or ask them where "we should go next"

This I actually love watching people play as much as I love playing games. It's like watching a movie, only it is interactive - we can discuss characters, strategies, what to do next and so on. And if my hands are not busy I can actually drink my tea in piece for once :)

My wife will be pushing me down to play first.

I ended up buying a second computer for Oblivion so I could play; probably end up doing the same here.

Came in handy when Warhammer Online came out, but neither machine has been upgraded since. Boo. :(

My wife is tolerant of my gaming.

She even said I could buy some mead and a drinking horn to celebrate the release of Skyrim.

However, she would not be tolerant of a girlfriend.
