Skyrim Assaults?

I started a new character. But one thing i never understood is the assaults that you get when you attack hostile enemies.

Like in this character i killed a wolf. Got an Assault

Killed a bunny. Got an Assault

Killed a bandit got an Assault.

Like what the heck. They are hostile so it shouldn't be an assault right?

This would also happen to me in Oblivion.

In my opinion they should have added like a good/bad assault stat. Like for example something exactly like this

Good Assault - kill a bandit/wolf/crab/fox/bunny etc

Bad Assault - kill a traveler/hunter/ town npc etc

That way you can tell the difference between the good ones and the bad ones.

Anyways it's not that big of a deal. I've been getting them through almost all characters i've made PC/360/PS3. But like damn when i want to make a perfect good character someone that is good all of that ruins it for me because it makes me feel that the character has committed crimes when i look at the assaults and even lock pick stats.

They should do the same thing with lock picks put a Good locks Picked (cave chest etc) and Bad locks Picked (owned chest etc)

It is a bug in the program, I have had assaults on mud crabs. I just ignore the number of assaults number. (I have not had this problem in Fallout 4 - they must have fixed it).

Saw the number but thought it was sneak attacks or something, not attacking friendly npc.
