Before anyone else posts anything I should say that THIS IS JUST A GAME. We can all be civil about it.

I think it looks great. I realize that "TES isn't Fallout", but a more Fallout-y approach to leveling and attributes is a change for the better IMO. I enjoyed Oblivion's leveling system for the most part, but FO3 and NV's are much more enjoyable, IMO. I'd rather choose appropriate perks for my character than allocate points to attributes any day.

More options is a good thing and Attributes shouldn't hold skills back.

Skyrim's leveling system is not Fallout's leveling system though.

Stats are, which I am not happy about, though everything else seems to be getting more complex. I like complex

thats your opinion, not that mine is more valid than yours. but doesn't mean the devs should ignore every one who doesn't agree with you.

I suspect this thread will not last long though, its been expressed that other simular threads *cough* took alot of monitoring by moderators and they didn't want to many reapeat threads because they are getting overwealmed.

From what we've seen it looks to me like the game is going to be even more customizable and varied. So no, I don't think it is being "simplified" too much. In fact it doesn't look like it is being simplified at all, quite the opposite in fact.

Many things are opinions but this is one of those situations where it can be quantified as a fact and yes, it is a fact that it is more complex. If you don't believe my numbers I've thrown out before, you can do the math yourself.

Skyrim's leveling system is not Fallout's leveling system though.

I realize that, but it's similar in many ways. As I said, more "Fallout-y"; not exactly like Fallout.

Too much? Well, I personally don't think it needed to be simplified at all. I think the skill system was best in Morrowind's days. However, I've loved each game they've done more than the last, so I trust that they know what they're doing.

Well Skyrim's leveling system is just Oblivion's level system with the major skills cut off and a little tweaking to make up for the lack of major skills.

I do not feel as though Skyrim has been simplified. I think if anything it has become both more complex and more new player friendly at the same time. I'm happy for the new perk system, but I really don't like the idea of simplifying attributes, I felt they were good how they were before, but in Skyrim you should just pick one point in an attribute per level.

How is it similar, Fallout 3 uses an XP leveling system with Perks. Skyrim uses the Skill Progression system with Perks. The only similarites are in the perks and they are even more specialized in Skyrim then Fallout 3.
