Skyrim Blogs

Linky is in my sig. :)

Added you to my blog's list of blogs.

I'm wondering how many people are going to be playing perma-death on their characters. I think I'll not do it, just so I can keep on writing the blog, but I'm still not completely sure.

Ditto.

I'm playing perma-death but giving myself between 1 and six lives through D6 roll with +1 increasing chance of failure each extra time. Hopefully should be enough to keep it interesting - I'm supposed to be actively avoiding danger, so they may last me a while...

Anyone who wants do this, but doesn't want to go to the trouble of serving up a Blogspot or whatever, might want to take a look at my site

http://theskyrimblog.ning.com

You can join, and start up your own blog instantly, as well as comment on the other people who have done that, join in discussions, forums, post photos etc.

There's already a thriving community doing just that...we just passed 1000 members earlier today

Thanks but no thanks, really prefer having something fully independent where I don't have mods pestering me if I decide to go controversial on something.

How doth I subscribe to blogs? :sadvaultboy:

You don't have to, you make a list of blogs gadget on your blog and add the blogs you wish to keep track of.

Also, if I may please get your attention, if you want the list of blogs you can check my blog:

http://armathyx.blogspot.com

I will be making daily posts about some views on Skyrim general topics (mods, kids being in game and such).

I have most of you added and will comment your blogs / help you get more views from time to time. But if you decide not to add anyone on purpose and just go solo, it's likely I'll remove you.

Also, I'm impressed about the quality of some of your blogs. Good job, this idea is truly a succes :)

This thread would probably be best in the community section, even though it's skyrim oriented it'll attract more attention me thinks?

Depends if it's trying to attract readers or contributors. Here I think it gets stands more chance of getting views by potential readers in the run up to release...

That sounds like a pretty good idea, though I'm not quite sure how survivable my character will be considering his personality. (he considers a death in battle to be a good thing.) Maybe he'll learn that doing things that get you arrested will get you executed, which is not an honourable death. Plus he's never encountered magic before, and I'm sure he'll be quite wary of it.

I guess I still have 8 days to think about it. :turtle:

Well, added everyone in this thread to my link list, thanks to anyone linking back :)

Finally posted the first part of my characters history on my blog, more work then I thought...
BTW, I divided my bloglinks into roleplay and non roleplay ones, which was hard with certain ones since the game hasn't started yet.
Feel free to check out if I've put you in the right category, link is in my sig.

Made some changes to my blog since the background wasn't working for everyone.

Firefox users will get the full photoshopped background.

IE / Chrome users will get the simple, elegant blue theme.

If you think the IE version is dull / turns you off from reading, please let me know. I'll eventually fix the background bug when I find a solution.

I've updated my blog with links to everyone else's too. Nice to see the work everyone putting into them!

Also, can anyone tell me if there's any inconsistencies with the font on each page? I was on a different computer this morning and noticed the font changes sometimes. I think I fixed them all, but just want to check.

The biography and map pages show up in Times New Roman. The rest appear fine to me.

Thanks! Think the bio is fixed now. I deleted the map page for now - can't format it right at the moment.

Love your blog, btw - definitely going to be following it!

You've put some work in it too I see, I for one very much enjoyed your writing so far.
You can tell Marlis is from respectable descent by her style of writing, it's very nice how different everyone's characters are already becoming while Skyrim isn't even out yet.
I also like all the different pages you've set up in preparation of the game, I can see Marlis keeping excellent track of everything she encounters, as a reference book for her future writings I suppose?

Thanks for linking :)

Thank you! I worried the writing might be a bit dry, so I'm glad you liked it. I'm going to try to keep things light - Marlis is quirky at best. The pages are mostly to help me find things again, since I have a terrible memory; but I'll just RP that she wants to write a complete directory of everything in Skyrim.

I also like seeing how diverse everyone's character is. There are several blogs I want to follow, but I'm scared of spoilers, so once the game is out, I'm cutting myself off and not reading them until I'm familiar with most of the game.

It's cool. I like the part about there being no spears. Why no spears in skyrim? Come on Bethesda! Classic viking weaponry being left out!?

Anyways, the story was entertaining =D I'd like to read more.
