Skyrim bugs?

Post » Fri Oct 07, 2011 2:57 am

Im really hoping that Skyrim will be so smooth, the game looks absolutely amazing, and i hope that they can find and eliminate most of the game breaking bugs.
PS: Can anyone inform me on the new Creation Engine? Benefits and how its different from the old engine? Thanks! :)

There will always be bugs, especially in a game like this. But hopefully they won't be game-breaking, and Bethesda will patch them soon after release.

Seriously though, if any bugs, they would be at a minimum. Fallout 3 barely had any compared to New Vegas many bugs. I think as part of the creation engine (not sure), it allows Bethesda to run the game on auto-pilot to detect any mishaps during the main quest and side quest and other quests and non related quests. Kinda like an anti-virus on a comp.

Yeah i know, im loving that Bethesda is using some sort of special direct connection like EA Sports games. Also that they're heavily running automated versions of the game to find these bugs. I just hope that it's at least not game breaking. (corrupted saves, extreme freezing, etc)

How was the old engine then? Like whats the difference between both engines exactly?

I hope there are not too many but at the end of the day there will be bugs somewhere in the game. Hopefully updates will get rid of them then.

The last engine they had was the Gamebryo Engine which was first used with Morrowind and then was upgraded then Oblvion was created and then upgraded again for FO3. The Creation Engine is brand spankin new, built from scratch. The Creation Engine allows Bethesda to go further into details and story line and everything we've seen so far with Skyrim. I dont have the heavy details on the Creation Engine. Maybe at some point Bethesda will release detailed info on the engine or they might talk about it on the dvd that comes with the CE of Skyrim. The modding community could tell you more about it once they get their hands on it.

Oh wow, so chances are we could be lucky with the game having less bugs because of the new engine? Oh I hope! Thanks alot for that info, i remember hearing of the gamebryo engine but didnt know it was used since morrowind!

Gotta remember that Gamebryo is not Bethesda's engine, it was a one size fits all graphics engine that was adapted to an open world environment.
Creation engine was designed for Skyrim and other open world games (as is Bethesda's forte), graphical errors are less likely to happen as the engine will be more optimised for this type of game.

I didnt know to much about the gamebryo engine, however that sounds like great news too me, im glad they designed their own engine to specifically fight Skyrim's standards :D

It is bethesda after all...

The bug I am looking forward to is how you can complete the main quest right after you finish making your character.
