Skyrim = Console Port = Bethesday svcks Balls

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 2:08 am

It's a shame, it really is.

I was so excited for Skyrim, It looked beautiful.
The scenery, the feel to it, I hadn't been that excited since I first got my copy of Morrowind.

then I read ' Skyrim for pc will be a console port, as I prefer console games '

Seriously Bethesda? Seriously? You should fire that man right now and hire on someone who actually knows a thing or too about the gaming community. Consoles are not the way of the future, never have been, never will be.

You started your franchise on pc and ultimately moved to consoles, like a confused catholic priest you have taken the option that will ultimately be your demise.

GG Bethesda, you've lost a fan, someone who actually purchased every bethesda game ( including CoC) since.

Consoles are a bigger market. A company needs money to survive.

I agree with some of your points but it probabyl should have been posted nicer. But I agree that console ports usually make bad PC games. But if done right I hope Skyrim will be awesome.

Yep, Ban me for telling the truth.

It was confirmed Skyrim was a console port, the lead developer prefers console gaming.

Meaning all you people with an awesome pc will be limited FPS wise, and forced to play a game designed for consoles on your pc ( Ie clunky interface ).

I feel bad for everyone actually excited about this game :(

Bethesda does not svck balls.

Yes, I'm a PC-Gamer who's also dissapointed by the growing shift of developers toward the mainstream console platforms in lieu of the PC we all love so dearly, but that does not allow me throw temper tantrums just because I won't get everything I want. Sure, the PC version could have had much better graphics and perhaps more mechanics had it be PC-standalone. Sure, there may be lesser optimisation for the PC because of a possibility that Skyrim will be a direct port. In either case, I'm satisfied because I understand the practical needs of modern videogame developers to turn a profit, and also appreciate greatly the efforts that both Bethesda and the modding community are and will put into Skyrim.

Besides, console gamers have just as much rights to play such a game as us PC games, These games are no longer directed at solely us, so please don't be so selfish. Oh, and whether you don't like it or not, console gamers are the reason we get our Elder Scrolls games on such a more massive scale. The more profitable returns from consoles, the grander the scale of the game. I've accepted this fact and thank console gamers for their part in raising the TES standard to its modern excellence.

You don't have to like it, but don't cry about it and especially don't rage at Bethesda.

Huh? All three versions are being developed at the same time. There's no "port."

Don't worry, your P.C will always be there as a shoulder to cry on when Bethesda yet again bends over for those heathen console gamers.

I agree with your argument I don't agree with how you put it. One thing you need to remember is that consoles are the bigger market a company needs money to survive but DICE is making their latest project Battlefield 3 more PC friendly so why can't everyone else do the same?

I don't play FPS's so okay...

Whilst I am a hardcoe PC gamer, I don't really care for consoles.

And besides, modern gaming era more companies are shifting to multiplatform games. Blizzard is thinking of multiplatform, CD Projekt RED's Witcher 2 engine is designed with consoles in mind, BioWare has gone multiplatform, etc.

If you don't like multiplatform then ignore it, get the PC port and be happy.

PC: Expensive, doesn't work half the damn time for games

Console: BUILT for games, almost guranteed to work

Console wins.

PC: Works all the time, unless you aren't too bright.

CONSOLE: RROD, disk scratching, disc swapping, worse gfx, worse load times, worse fps, no mods

I agree with your sentiment, but the "developer" doesn't say anything you said he did in that article.

PCs don't cost an awful lot more than consoles do.

Get your facts straight before starting wars and throwing wild accusations out there.
