Text input is not a problem, both the PS3 and 360 have official keypad peripherals: http://www.gamemanx.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/chatpad-compared-ps3-360.jpg
and I also know from personal experience that you can use any keyboard with a USB cable on the PS3 (not sure about 360, don't have one).
It seems to me that a lot of the people against the idea are the somewhat elitist PC gamers. Console commands are a PC thing and peasan console gamers shouldn't get the option and if they want it they should (stock answer) 'get a gaming PC'.
Now I'm not trying to start any arguements or flame anyone here, but that seems to be the case a lot of the time. I'm also the type to dabble in PC gaming from time to time, playing Morrowind and Oblivion on my computer often, so just throwing that out there before I get flamed for my comment.
But back to the topic at hand, I don't see why not - it's been shown to be possible in other games, text input is no problem thanks to USB devices, peripherals and both consoles having virtual keypads and it would obviously come in handy for when bugs occur. I vote yes.
yet they have the money to buy an xbox
and I know about the virtual keyboard, but like I said it would be a pain to use
but if you get mods does it really matter?
Show me a PC capable of running Skyrim as well as a console for the same price as one.
You'll need to pay quite a bit more than what you would for a console. No doubt PC produces better results, but at a much higher cost.
