Skyrim crashes and info on Win7

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 3:12 pm

I recently checked my system messages and found an entry about Oblivion and the solution center says Bethesda recommends that I update my version of Oblivion to a newly released patch and offers a link to a site which does not exist!
Well first of all: I am at the current patchlevel 1.3.10.0 there are no new patches!
Second: The site which should link to updates does not exist.
Third: No wonder that that patch site does not exist as patches are only distributed via Steam afair!

Can you please clean that mess in solution center and fill it with accurate information?

Edit:
DoH nevermind I am with stupid today it seems, but anyways mods you may want to just move this to the Oblivion section as the problem exists (Goty Oblivion installed with all actual patches)

Edit: Swapped Skyrim with Oblivion

Edit: Also I know the reason of my Oblivion crashes: My Asus Xonar soundcard when using GX (EAX like mode) so the suggestion to update Oblivion is still misleading as it is up2date.

My German is a little shaky. But I believe the message is talking about Oblivion...
Now, if you don't have Oblivion installed then this is indeed an issue.

A newer version of the elder scrolls 4: Oblivion is available to download. This version will solve the problems you are having. Don't understand the last bits, but this is about oblivion not skyrim. You either asked in the wrong section or you are having problems with oblivion, in that case wrong forums.

You didn't provide much info at all and it is hard to tell which copy of Oblivion you are actually using. Not sure if your remark up there means you have the GotY edition or not, it's hard to tell. Or if it's the Steam version or not. Not much of a difference, but all information about your install and system would help. Also, you failed to say what happened. Mods or not? Have you changed any INI settings? Are you installed outside of Program Files on the C drive? And so forth.

Though, if you are looking for the patch information:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Patch
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes4Mod:Unofficial_Oblivion_Patch

Again, the more you information you provide to us, the more we can help.
