Skyrim crashes at launch.

Post » Sun Jun 09, 2013 8:38 pm

I have the Legendary Edition of Skyrim, trying to launch through Steam.

I can get the launcher to pop up (i.e. the menus with "play, data files, options, etc..") but as soon as I click play it executes thie file "Ekag20nt.exe" about 1,000 times. Naturally it eats up all my resouces then freezes my whole computer. I have screen shots but didn't see anywhere to attach pictures.

I've tried vaildating my game cache through steam and it always says that 1 file failed to validate it will be reacquired, but it never does.

Let me know if you need anymore information. I would appreaciate any help or advice. Thanks in advanced.

A quick Google shows that this process is associated with the Virtu MVP program, which is included in the motherboard drivers disc that comes with ASRock motherboards. Check the Control Panel, and if you have Virtu MVP installed, uninstall it and see if that fixes your problem.

I uninstalled the Virtu MVP program and Skyrim works now. Thank you very much! I can finally enjoy the game that I've been waiting to play. Again thank you.
