Skyrim+Cyrodiil?

Post » Mon Nov 29, 2010 12:18 pm

Think about it, travelling back to imperial city, seeing all the new changes, the impression the last hero had on the world. It would be fantastic but probably not going to happen, ever. Unless modders decide to merge Oblivion and Skyrim somehow...

Everyone... just look how small Skyrim is compared to Cyrodiil. Bethesda needs to include some other province as a suprise, but I was hoping for High Rock or something since we already played out hearts out in Cyrodiil. I doubt they will add anyother province, but Skyrim is just a little too small.

Perhaps a dlc which adds High Rock? :D

Oh, and NO PROVINCES IN DLC!!
Every province deserves its own game. DLC's and expansions would just be in insult to them.

Cyrodiil would be kind of boring, if you ask me. Its lack of real natural borders means you'd kind of have to cover the entire province as well, in which case I'd much rather see bordering parts of Morrowind or High Rock.

Actually, here's an idea - how about we make the Imperial City revisitable in the fashion of Mournhold? The city would be enclosed so you wouldn't be able to venture out, but I'd love to see Bethesda re-envision the city on a larger scale, more truthful to the original PGE description.

Then you would touch Martin's Akatosh statue while you're there, breaking it and learning a new dragonshout in the progress.

An adoring fan would come up and say "Ooh! So you're the Dragon Born! Cant I be your fan naow? Plz?"

Anyway a mornhould-like Imperial city would be GREAT. I would personally like it since according to what people here say, it didn't quite live up to it's name in the lore in Oblivion.

High Rock is a small enough province for some good DLC. I think the next game should be on a whole other continent, like Akavir.

I didn't say it was impossible in the vote however on the 360, it is, as space is a huge issue especially if you was include to two complete elders scrolls games on there : )

If they were to make a quest where you go to a piece of Cyrodill, or said province, would be cool. Like Paradise in Oblivion size-wise.

The size of province doesn't matter. Cyrodiil is bigger then Skyrim but in-game Skyrim will be as big as Cyrodiil. Illiac Bay is tiny compared to those two but is much, much, much huger in-game.
In other words: actual size of province does not matter: the in-game world will be as large as resources allow it. And with number of cities High Rock has... a big map is needed.

I'd rather they just focused on Skyrim. If some DLC allowed us to explore parts of the Morrowind mainland or High Rock I wouldn't complain though.

I agree with you. Each province DESERVES its own game. Regardless of the biases people have, including my own towards Morrowind, each one of the games has been too epic. And if Oblvion let you go into Skyrim, that would have basically ruined the upcoming game. If they do ever release an expansion for TES 5, make it as big as Solsteim on MW or something to that extent. Not too big of one, but it did its job and was very fun

I agree I would rather see a portion of the Morrowind mainland in some sort of expansion. I think very interesting things are going on in Morrowind and i'd like to see (and be part of) how it works out

Solstheim. It's technically part of Skyrim anyway, isn't it?

I was led to believe that.... but where is it located exactly? It might be too far east.

Possibly, but it's not that far east:

According to the color coding, it's not part of any province, so who knows?

If any other province should be included I would much prefer High Rock. Orsinium anyone?

I'm planning a mod for it already

Not possible. Would be nice if you could hit "defined" boarder gates with guards and whatnot.

Woah. I just read it.
Refayj's famous declaration, "There is but one city in the Imperial Province,--" may strike the citizens of the Colovian west as mildly insulting, until perhaps they hear the rest of the remark, which continues, "--but one city in Tamriel, but one city in the World; that, my brothers, is the city of the Cyrodiils." From the shore it is hard to tell what is city and what is Palace, for it all rises from the islands of the lake towards the sky in a stretch of gold. Whole neighborhoods rest on the jeweled bridges that connect the islands together. Gondolas and river-ships sail along the watery avenues of its flooded lower dwellings. Moth-priests walk by in a cloud of ancestors; House Guards hold exceptionally long daikatanas crossed at intersections, adorned with ribbons and dragon-flags; and the newly arrived Western legionnaires sweat in the humid air. The river mouth is tainted red from the tinmi soil of the shore, and river dragons rust their hides in its waters. Across the lake the Imperial City continues, merging into the villages of the southern red river and ruins left from the Interregnum.

The Emperor's Palace is a crown of sun rays, surrounded by his magical gardens. One garden path is known as Green Emperor Road-here, topiaries of the heads of past Emperors have been shaped by sorcery and can speak. When one must advise Tiber Septim, birds are drawn to the hedgery head, using their songs as its voice and moving its branches for the needed expressions.

That sounds so epic. They could have made a game just based around the Imperial city and surrounding area.
