I have had an idea pop into my head regarding Skyrim or any other future Elder Scrolls games for that matter. This idea will probably fall on deaf ears, but i'm ok with that. I will at least throw it out there and it would be interesting to see if it gains some support for my opinion.
Prior to Skyrim coming out I crammed a number of hours into Dark Souls and yeah really enjoyed the difficulty of the game and its unusual pvp system. After playing Dark Souls one thing that appears to be missing for me in Skyrim is the online pvp play. I am not suggesting that Skyrim should be an MMO (even though from what I understand its something that is on the cards but is currently riddled with law suits), or that pvp should be implemented via an invading system, but it would be great if the game had a pvp component in it i.e. something like an arena system.
The arena setting, if identified as being the best option could be in similar setting as the arena in Oblivion, but would work by players signing up with a battle master and be summoned into an arena to PVP.
As far as making each class fair all players once inside the arena will be scaled to base level evenly with regards to damage healing etc and could maybe be matched up according to gear level (rather than player level) i.e. someone with a basic iron set would not pvp against someone in a full dragon set and issue a +1 or a -1 for winning/losing.
As far as rewards that could be gold, rare items etc.
You can all see where I'm going with this.
I am curious to everyone’s thoughts so please feel free to offer your opinion.
TL; DR:
Do you think Skyrim via DLC or any other Elder Scrolls game in the future would work well with having an online pvp arena component to it as a mini side game to the main 1 player gaming experience?
