Skyrim DLC

i would like to see aleins or something but ive got a gut feeling that, that doesnt fit the game at all. another dimension or something would be cool

Yea aliens are a little more Fallout. As for another dimension, that has been done before in TES and we might see it again.

let's look at this a money way.

say Microsoft offer Bethesda a large amount of money to make DLC for them FIRST (you will still get it) that means Bethesda has more money to play around with to make better DLC so I say lets do it.
also if Bethesda goes with G4WL then PC will still get the DLC first.

so really if it means better DLC then I am all for it.

Mods always seemed "fake" to me. :P

The vampire lair is a mod too, one that you have to pay for. It doesn't really have anything to do with the lore, so I don't know why it would matter who made the mod. =P

I think he means most mods. most mods do seem a bit different than if they were implemented into the game originaly (and i don't mean voiceover's).

The good mods are the few... the very few.

Even so long after morrowind was released, i only like using about 8 different content mods for that game (not including graphic mods and stuff)

You know that narrow strip of Morrowind territory east of Skyrim? It would be really good if a point lookout size DLC of that were made.

absolutely! so many people love the culture of Morrwind but all we got was Vvardenfell. If they aren't gonna visit the rest of this province in a future title i think some of Morrowind should/could be in an expansion for Skyrim, especially since the territorial disputes in eastern skyrim.

Bethesda has said they are more interested in doing DLC in the size of FO3's and KOTN.

Same as I heard, the small Oblivion ones was to small and SI to big. Saying this; point lookout was pretty big and I thought we got a decent amount of content in fallout.
The houses was pretty pointless vastly more so on pc as we has thousand house mods for download, everything from portable tents to palaces.

I seriously hope they don't follow this route again. Everyone has a right to the DLC.

360 is known for not having many rpgs

It pretty much comes down to if you like FPS games get a 360, if you like RPGs get a PS3
i like FPS and RPGs but i HATE Microsoft

something i hate about DLC is that I think with most games, they hold back specifically to save content for a DLC......I think game creators should go all out the first time around and then if they can't fit it or if they think of something new after the game is out, they should put THAT on DLC. I felt like fallout new vegas was made kind of crappy because they wanted DLC....more money.....Like they KNEW we wanted to keep playing after we beat it, but i heard new vegas had a dead end like the first one and that it was solved in DLC....again........I dont think they will do this with skyrim though. I never got to finish vegas because my game broke.

You didn't miss much. The horse armor was a joke, and the other DLCs were meh at best. Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine were the only real DLC to care about

Shivering isles wasn't DLC it was a fully fledged expansion pack

Not to get into a pointless agruement but SI was DLC.It was content that was downloadable.

Problem is people will likely never rally together and try to end it.

Expansion are likely not to happen.

I've seen at least four other companies having exclusive rights to xbox ust in the past several months and probably before but I just never paid attention. It'll keep happening no matter what we do.

Todd hinted at not planning on doing expansions anymore because they supposedly take too much time.

Hmmmm I would rather they make Expansions instead of dlcs but I trust Bethesda's wisdom

Hopefully its a different story than Oblivion. I will be buying Skyrim for PS3 and would at least like the option of having DLC, whether or not i will get it.

the exclusive DLC svcked hard. I have 400 MS point that i can't figure out what to use on, and after looking into what the dlc gives you.... i haven't bought any of them.

Not only do i think they shouldn't have exclusive dlc in skyrim, i think they shouldn't waste their time with that weak BS that they tried to pass off as DLC with oblivion and just stick to expansions like Shivering Isles (Knights of the Nine was not an expansion, it was a questline that added very little to the overall game).

Knights of the Nine gives your character some good equipment

Since it does not yet seem part of the primary Skyrim product, what I would like to see is a return of the Daggerfall style of random dungeons. Albeit improved.

One other thing missing (from the PERFECT rpg) is the ability to modify the environment ingame...though I will doubt this will ever be in Skyrim.

Even though I play on the 360, I still believe in equality, so yeah, give the PS3 and comp players the same DLC if possible.

How many iterations of this thread do we need. And no, Todd already stated due to the amount of time and man hours it took to make Shivering Isles they'll stick with smaller packs with more apparently quality. Basically we might get a Point Lookout sized or a little bigger pack but no true fledged expansion the size of SI if we go by that.

One thing I hope Bethesda stays away from is dropping hints and also names again and again of things or characters not in the game for DLC. Too apparent in New Vegas and Mass Effect 2 had it aswell.

I realize dlc packs for a game has become the norm but really can you release the game -then- brainstorm the ideas. Connecting dlc to the game world might make sense but it tells consumers the content was either ripped at the last second ala Ulysses and Kasumi or that the content could of been put in.

To be fair New Vegas (Only a few devs from the beth team) nor Mass Effect 2 were Bethesda Game Studio creations so neither goes on them. Just examples.

By all means Bethesda is one of the if not the top developers that give you bang for your buck in terms of pure single player content. It's just that the honestly very little gain in dlc spending is becoming apparent to consumers.

Kind of like buying a dozen bad cheap game apps from an app store for an iphone, android, etc. then realizing you honestly wasted your money on a worthless trinket.

Oh, my bad. Mostly read this current page. Well that's been commented on a dozen times. And what I wrote weren't really dlc ideas. Mostly just a format to avoid plus answering some things from this page.

Hrm...exclusivity. Already answered but simply enough: Keep limited exclusivity(Microsoft) and full exclusivity(Sony) out guys. Or atleast they should. On the other hand again it's funny consumers really want to wave their money at Bethesda or others to take it away from them.

Personally there shouldn't be any sort of exclusivity to multiplatform things. Of coarse as Sony continues to get complete exclusives on the dlcs they pick up and then rack up exclusive games I can't condone Microsoft to play a harder game for their customers.

In which case separating dlc from PC but going to 360 confounds me. There's only a rare amount of people who will buy a console plus a retail game just to then buy a dlc.
