We can put it in line behind duel wielding bows and shields.

...and what's wrong with dual wielding shields? Seems perfectly valid and reasonable to me, whereas two bows is... well, impossible.

You do know that a claymore weighs like like 20+ pounds. I would like to see you swing one with one hand, none the less one with each hand at once, and do it repeatedly more than 0 times.

Claymores on average weighed 4-6 pounds. Decorational and positional weapons weighed sometimes 8, but were not meant for combat.

The reason one could not dual wield claymores is thanks to leverage. The weapons are too long to be used effectively, in addition to being balanced for two hands.

Now, some swords, like Bastard Swords, were meant to be used both one and two handed, although I highly doubt those can be dual wielded, as, once again, they are a bit heavy (4-5) and are weighted differently. The main reason to use two hands would be more power or control over the blade.

I don't care. Sure it's unrealistic, but it's a fantasy game. Might as well have fun with it.

They are a 2 handed weapon, so no.

I'd agree, I'm guessing that no matter how strong you are, two handed weapons will stay two handed, and thus by nature, you wouldn't be able to dual wield them, because the whole idea of two handed weapons is that you need two hands to use them effectively. I'd say the only weapons you can dual wield are one handed weapons.

i was thinking they weighed 80+ pounds and i know guys hou can swing 70 pound bumbells with one hand tho they are slow at stoping the swing so i could e-z see a 6 pound siwng (and the guys are not huge just in shape as ther in the canadian forces and have to train to pick up sumone hou weights 200 pounds and run to cover)

There is an easy way to make this possible, but it will only work on PC.

Edit a claymore in the Creation Kit, and make it one-handed, then it can be dual wielded.

Considering how hard it is to weild just two longswords, claymores just wouldnt be possible.

said about a game with giant talking lizards wielding magical spells.

I do think that it defeats the purpose of having a difference between these weapons if you can just use claymore's as long swords. I just hope they actually use claymores like they were wielded, with one hand on the blade.

I own a claymore (real, not a replica) and it is easily 12+ pounds. It depends on the size, how thick the metal is, what materials it is made from, etc.

This would be a good mod idea; just design it so you swing exceptionally slow, lurch to the side, and reduce your defense by 5000 post-swing for several seconds.

Claymores are two-handed weapons, which obviously require two hands. So no, they are not. Unless there is some perk that requires ridiculous strength but lets you single handedly wield a claymore, but I doubt that.
