Hi all - just starting Skyrim for the first time. I've gotten the impression reading some of the wikis that life may be harder for me if I play as one of the elf races. But my favorite character type is an archer/sneak. Will I be fine?
Thanks!
Tom

Any race can be anything, Have fun with skyrim! (Anything will be fine btw)
Archery/Sneak is considered to be very OP by some, so yes you'll be fine.
None of the racial skills make much of a difference at all, and skills tend to even out after a few levels anyways.
And if you're talking restrictions due to race interactions, then don't worry. Bethesda's always been about "tell, don't show" especially in Skyrim.
Be prepared to be looked down on by Nords, though, even if you're literally the one looking down on them. :T
Yup, it's just fine on both counts. One of my two main characters is an Altmer, and it's actually very enjoyable.
Thanks everyone!!! Yeah it was primarily based on what I understood to be the other races' attitudes towards the elven races generally, whether bartering will be difficult, etc.
I've started as a wood elf and I'm really excited to finally play it. I'm enjoying the HUGE graphical (6 years later, it BETTER be better than Oblivion!) and GUI improvements.
Pro: You can acknowledge the guy's stupidity through the sarcastic dialogue option of "Of course. Outsiders like me don't belong here."
Con: His sarcasm detector's broken. Evidently he's gently [censored] and calls you an "ignorant Nord" from then on if you do go with that option.
