I downloaded the new NVIDIA beta driver (version 290.36) and wanted to activate Ambient Occlusion but under the control panel there is no Skyrim.exe. I tried to add it manually but I can't find the .exe file on my PC. I am a total newb at this! There is Steam.exe file available in the control panel, but no skyrim.exe. Does this have something to do with the new patch that was released?

Any help would be appreciated, I am sure the fix is pretty easy.

I think you need to look for TESV.exe.

The full name of the game is "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim"

Hence, the name in the Nvidia Driver Profile is "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim"

It's associated to "tesv.exe", which means if you use the 4GB Launcher you have to manually add "tesv.exe.4gb" to this profile.

The problem is different. I had the same. The driver doesn't detect Skyrim unless you reinstall it after the driver (if you did a clean install).

Thing is, even if the driver doesnt detect skyrim it will still execute the skyrim profile if the corresponding exe is loaded. So what you wanna do is uncheck the "only show applications found on this computer" checkbox, scroll down to Elder Scrolls 5, make your tweaks, and save.

In "Manage 3D Settings" click the Programs tab. Uncheck "show only programs found on this computer". Scroll down to Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. If you are using 285.62 it won't be on the list because the game hadn't been released when those drivers were. In that case you need to click the "add" button and navigate to programs/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/TESV and add it manually.
