skyrim expansions

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:11 pm

I imagine as they close in on the finished product they already thinking of ideas for expansions and dlc, what kinds or things would you want from what you already know ?

If they dont have them in game already, pack animals would be a choice I would make

strongholds also, if not included

sleighs would be nice too

as for an expansion, how about a revamped Morrowind or a war for the nords with one of the neighbors

How about a new land discovered where Dwarves and (gnomes) live with little or knowledge about the rest of Tamriel ?

I'd say yes. Since they were already designing Skyrim after Oblivion during Fallout 3's development. I'm sure it's safe to say they are at least designing the expansions now.

Also, the Dwemer or "Dwarves" have been wiped from the face of Nirn. And gnomes just don't exist in Elder Scrolls as far as I know.

as far as we know it, is NOT a definite thing, even the last surviving Dwarf thought their might be a chance, and Lore only effects our land as we know it, facts can be changed to fit any situation, after all facts are facts only until proven otherwise, like flat earth or the sun orbiting the earth, ect,...

For me...it is too early to think about expansions. But yes, I want them...and many of them!

Dwarves have never really appeared in the ES games have they?

Wouldn't an attack by the Dragon of Time be the perfect time to break history itself and restore a race that deleted themselves from existence?

ESVI, ready to write.

The Dwemer were also the most technologically advanced race. I'm fairly certain if they still existed in our dimension they could easily return to Tamriel if they wanted. And honestly I don't want us to leave Tamriel in a game or expansion until we have finished with it. I,e went to every province. (I'm not counting Arena)
I like the Dwemer being gone and not fully explained. It adds a mystery to them that I don't want to see get metachlorianized.

Well, 200 years since Oblivion, and we all know how dwarves breed like rabbits. Wouldn't be suprised if the've overrun Tamriel by now.

Yes exactly my point for adding them it would be nice to have them available after all these yrs, especially as a playable race in the expansion or next TES as for gnomes thet have never been mentioned but in the world we play they would be a totally believable race, ( not necessarily playable tho)

Where do you get they breed like rabbits from ? they are a long living race and as such would not breed fast, least that is how they are usually treated in books, stories

I wouldn't be surprised if Todd already had locations and themes picked for the DLCs, and also wouldn't be surprised if none of us can guess it. ;)

That's a damn good question. One that I had not thought of beforehand... well, you know how the moderators have green names? I'm sure if the wanted to the Bethesda team could have a different color.
But then again if they did that, they would get constantly harassed by The Elder Scrolls and Fallout fans.
OK... How about an Official DLC/Expansion Suggestion Thread. One that we knew would be looked at periodically by the Bethesda team. Just an idea...
Anyways, my original post was based on the idea that it would be really cool if they asked us for ideas. That is all.

Yes i do. Infact i am 99% sure they are.

Things like Pack Animals, Sleighs and Strongholds should be in the game from the beginning. I hate when developers take out features so they can sell it as DLC. It's so greedy and stupid... well alright it isn't stupid because sadly, some people actually gladly buy the stuff. I would like to think that the Horse armor was a mistake, that Bethesda has learned their lesson and won't do such a thing again, but only time will tell.

It's a bit hard to predict DLC when we have very little idea what will and will not be in the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if ideas for expansions are appearing in some developers minds, mainly because they're probably cutting things that don't have enough time for, and those might be revived in an expansion.

I'm betting on stronghold expansions, just like in Oblivion. I would love to see a larger expansion, like Bloodmoon, but I think the smaller, more numerous expansions as DLC that can be driven over Xbox Live or PlayStation Network will be what we see most of. But even Oblivion brought us Shivering Isles, so I bet there's something like that in the works. Are they doing it right now? I bet they're still ironing out the main game at this time. I bet the expansions are probably good ideas that were thrown out as side quests, but put off because of time constraints. So I bet the genesis is there, at least. But I doubt anyone's actually working on them at this time. As the launch gets closer, less of the team will be working on the main game, so more of the DLC can be worked. Once the thing is in beta, it's feature complete. They're just working bugs then.

The expansion I'm hoping for is Skyrim: Blackmarsh. Oh well, not all dreams come true.

I would like to see an expansion that will take us to another of the daedra lord's realm, and either take over or keep the lord from doing something.

I would rather them concentrate making the base game solid and glitch/bug free upon release (cough cough New Vegas).

Come on guys, lets get facts straight before we start pointing at problems with past games, first off F:NV was not in the works for yrs it was pretty much thrown together within a yrs time, also bethesda farmed that one out to I might mention people who had people from the original fallouts working on their team, while fallout 3 was a true bethesda product and the glitches we get with bethesda games, are never game ending type gltches, least never have been for me, second of all TES is not FALLOUT 3 or FALLOUT NV and they have been working on this title now for like 4 yrs and like most the TES they start thinking about future expansions before the release of the games no matter what they say lol.

Hopefully not, let them hear some of the fans feedback before deciding what to do next. And then surprise us with neat things we would love to see.
