Anyone think the two have a little bit in common ?

Not really. The games are pretty distant in almost every way. (although I've never had the patience to play an entire Fable game)

Was there a specific thing you had in mind to compare?

Only the obvious that they are fantasy CRPGs

Fable doesn't give you much choice on character creation, is more linear, not open world and has a very cartoony style

I did quite enjoy it (only played the first)

Not really, though it was the series I was into before this one, and it's the reason I even got into the Elder Scrolls.
