If Skyrim faced a zombie apocalypse

Post » Mon Jun 08, 2015 8:38 pm

Often wondered how Skyrim would fair against a true zombie apocalypse, I know there are draugers and temporarily reanimated corpses in skyrim, but I'm talking about zombies like from The Walking Dead or Resident Evil where some creatures mutate.

What are you guys thoughts on it? Would the warriors and hero's and supernatural creatures of skyrim prevail over a Resident Evil/Walking Dead apocalypse? or would skyrim and its inhabitants meet a gruesome end.?

Also who of the Daedric Lords do u think might orchestrate such a thing?

It'd likely be started by worshippers of Mannimarco or Molag Bal.

Can't see it ending in any other way than 90% of the population getting zombified, with the last bits of civilization hiding in walled cities. They ARE designed for seiges, after all.

Eventually, it would likely fall on wizards, archers, and anyone in full plate to push back the horde, and they may be moderately successful.

We'd get a badass team up of Arkay and Meridia.

As an aside, what are the thoughts of Peryite, Namira, and Hircine on the undead? Those three seem like they'd have problems with it, considering their spheres of influence would be encroached upon by the undead, though Namira might enjoy it as the Lady of Decay and Hircine might see it as yet another twist on the idea of hunting.

Depends on if cure disease worked or not. Would you have to use a shrine, would a potion work, or neither one? If there was no cure, then I'd think it'd come down to an army of mages and archers with enchanted bows (I know normal bows work verses undead in Skyrim but it always felt odd that poking a few extra holes in something that was already dead would destroy it). I could also see dragons in Skyrim wanting to kill off the undead as well, after all if the undead became plague-like and wiped out 90% of all living things then there goes the dragons food source. Do dragons in Skyrim eat?

The Dunmer would revere their dead and so, Dunmer "zombies" known as Bonewalkers are just re-animated corpses that are inhabited temporarily by a soul in order to guard a tomb, for Bosmer it'd be an all you can eat buffet.

Nah, traditional Bosmer eat corpses. The Bosmer derive from a culture that is primarily meat eaters to the point of cannibalism of their dead, this is due to the Green Pact where they aren't allowed to eat vegetation of Valenwood.

Bosmer don't leave corpses alone or bury their dead, they eat them until they're nothing but bones.

Gee let me see mindles stupid zombies vs magic, dragons, trolls, almost everything else and a few races are resistent to disease and then theres praying to an altar to get rid of diseases and taking potions. So zombies are nothing in that world.

Uh... zombies would lose. Magic wins all the way, seeing as there's already zombies in the Elder Scrolls. :D

Skyrim would not go under.

Unless the Zombies somehow took out the Mages and the College at Winterhold out by surprise, the Mages would spam fire spells until the undead horde was cleansed.
