Skyrim is a fail

Your question answers itself.

I was hoping that he would've figured that out himself by now. Sadly, that is the depressing nature of the modern TES fan.

Oh look, it's a list of weak points of each build.

Other than the bugs of course, you're really just complaining about the downsides
that each play style has.

And then there's the part where you expect to never have your stealth broken with starting levels
of sneak. That was rich. "Why is my 20 lb sledge hammer swinging so slow? Bethesda fix this!" was
another exceptionally crafted complaint. You want to be able to interrupt a two handed swing? I find
the very idea silly because if you don't want to have to strategize your swings with a 2 hander (which is what you need to do,
you can't just swing like a mad man), you can choose to play any number of one handed builds.

What I basically saw you doing was picking a build, and then doing nothing to try to stem the faults that
build has. "I'm going to make a sneak only character, and then be totally flabbergasted when he
can't fight anything" sort of complaint.

I'm not saying this game is perfect. It certainly has it's bugs / flaws. But every build has it's weak points. Get with the program.

I`ve been only playing with 2-handed/archer (expert since the beginning )and want to respond to this:
"The 2-handed melee didn't make it far. The big thing is that once you swing your weapon, there is no going back till the swing animation is over. And with a 3 second swing of a 2h hammer you better bring a band-wagon of pots with you, because you will get beaten up like stupid till your first swing hits, the enemy staggers and you just beat him down. Why not just allow to interrupt the swing with the block button? What is the advantage of a 2h weapon to cover for the loss of defense except for a minor increase of damage? And how the hell am I supposed to afford 200 potions for each dungeon?"

When you attack with 2-handed you need stamina, and lots of it. When I was in the beginning of the game my character got tired after 2 power attacks, but I still didn`t have to use that much potions. I kept finding them way more than I used. Now that my 2-handed is about 60 and I have somewhat ok restoration skill, I keep attacking my opponents running and power attacking and I can take some pretty tough fights down by doing criticals from running power attacks and then just doing the 5 second god-mode shout and pull of a swing or two and boom. And yes the enemy gets staggered. Where`s the problem?
And when I`m able to get that sweeper attack, I`m going to be invinsible against groups of enemies just smashing them all with left and right swingz.

The weak points of the builds don't bother me as much as every other flaw the game has.

I was really a great fan of Bethesda, but this game really killed the fanboyism for me.

Looking at the date of your forum account creation, i don't think you're much of a Bethesda "fan-boy" anyway.

You're obviously trying to cause trouble here. Shoo~ go back to whatever scumhole u crawled from. Begone!

Hey OP: I read your post, and it sounds like you just kinda svck at Skyrim. I mean, trying to go from mage to warrior all at once at level 48 is suicide in itself. seriously, I hate it when people think Skyrim is the reason why they svck so bad, my friend, you just svck.

I would have said it if he hadn't. Even if skyrim wasn't popular I would have said that.

What do you hope to accomplish besides ranting with fellow forumites? This is a serious question.

"They put out a new version every year" is a comment on the marketing department, not a review of the games themselves. So I'm not sure what you guys are saying beyond joining in with the "It's hip to bash CoD" crowd.

(Disclaimer - I haven't played a CoD game since the original. Doesn't particularly interest me. But I still find the mindless flogging of the whole "lulz, CoD 12 year old baddies!" thing to be kind of ludicrous.)

Reason why getting over-hyped for a game is never a good thing.

Yeah, I went around expecting Stronghold 3 and Skyrim to svck even worse than the games before them (SH2 and OB were huge letdowns compared to the games before them), now I'm extremely possitively surprised.
And Op, no idea why you think sneak and stealing is hard, first think I did with a Bosmer was sneak through an entire troll cave, next thing was steal jewelry from tons of richies in Riften...
Warrior is easy to play too. (BTW I'm not enchanting, 'nor powersmithing)
EDIT: But atleast the OP isn't one of them "No complaints, worship Skyrim or cut out your tongue!" people... they're even worse.

Why the hell can't my shield block a spell?
Because you're holding the shield and it is connected to your body by touch, so it is part of you. Magic is not blockable by mundane crafts. You have to use magic to block magic. Likewise, locks that are locked with magic are not pickable by mundane tools. You have to use magic to unlock magical locks. That's what separates the magical world from the mundane or regular world.

This proves that this game is epic because it's so good it even got people that play shooters to buy this game!

Stereotypical TES fan Stereotyping COD players. I play COD, So what if I like RPG's to.
Also Anthotis, I've seen you constantly bashing COD players in a number of threads with
underlying meanings, suggesting that they are stupid because they play COD? Grow up.

I agree with that second part, but I haven't been on the forums for a year yet and Im a huge fan. I first played Morrowind GOTY in 2004 at my friends house, it was my first open world game and best experience in gaming I ever had up to that point.

yeah we get it......you don't like the game, ok bye..........
getting sick of these posts lol! why do they bother to post???? don't like the game, sell it, trade it in, whatever! but no need to keep posting, oh i hate skyrim blah blah blah! for me its one of the best RPG's i have played to date! some of these hard core so called fans of the roleplaying genre, seem to think that only they can enjoy certain role playing titles and if they get popular or have different gameplay mechanics to what they are used to then god forbid!!
get off your elitist high horse's people, lose the attitude and embrace the fact that times have changed, and i am glad that more and more are enjoying the rpg genre, not being selfish and trying to keep it to a select few!

I'm just stuck on playing a warrior, which basically cuts the game time in half for me, even more though, because mage has always been my favorite. I simply don't play the thief really, and I don't plan to do it in skyrim because of how terrible stealth is at the start and how insanely nonsensical it gets at its higher levels. Besides stealing is pointless in Skyrim

People that say "stealing is useless in skryim" like the op saying you don't make money from it, are stealing tankards and wooden plates. You have to case the city and figure
out where the valuables are. You might try the jarl houses or manors where the lords of each city live (rich people = valubles. derp), or the obvious ones like in markarths "counting house" or whatever it's called (banks = gold and valubles. derp). You people simply don't have the mind for a thief.

Also, you say "sneak isn't good at the start, but it's good after you've leveled it". Am I the only one that face palmed hard after reading that?

I've put around 60-70 hours into this game and had NONE of those problems minus a few bugs. I find the game very hard at times (playing on Expert) but it's nothing which can't be solved with better strategy.

Sorry you had a bad time with the game, I'm having loads of fun.

Same here, i have an epic tank warrior and the game runs smoothly than ever, its epic and power balance is good to, i mean in oblivion i had a tank warrior again and i could just run it with a shield and take down everything i see now you have to lvl up your shield or something buy some perks get some potions on and go...
