Skyrim Fan Fiction

Well being an avid TES fan I thought of writing some brief fan fiction for Skyrim, it's not to long and I find it a little cool how I can mesh it to the main game, Enjoy and insult if you want haha.

The slaying of a mighty foe

As the cold wind passes through the crack in my helmet, glancing fur around my neck, I know a blizzard is coming and I would soon be amongst the greybeards at the top of ‘The throat of the world’. As I climb the legend of the seven thousand steps, I notice as each one I pass, the one behind disappears through the thickness of the snow and the gust of cold wind. The air begins to thin the further I go and my eyesight becoming faint as my body struggles to continue. The shield on my back begins to weigh me down along with my sword, the strength I had, taken away by this gusty snow.

I continue to climb because it is my quest that I set out to do, to find my father’s sword atop this mountain. As a child my mother would tell me stories of my father and his adventures of slaying beasts like dragons and giants. He lived amongst the greybeards and was never to be seen again. It was presumed he was dead and twenty years later a traveller brings news of a man in cloak with a description only my mother knew was my father. He left me as a baby and I was left with my mother in a society hit by poverty. But I wanted to be just like him and become a hunter, slaying great beasts just like him. My wife a kid knew of my journey to find my father, but I told them little of how long I was to be and I have been gone for more than three weeks.

As I continue climbing I realise this could as well be my end if the cold gets its way with my body. After a short space of time, the blizzard began to thicken but to my luck a cave could be seen. I slowly make my way in as the feeling of each part of my body begins to fade. As I enter I drop my shield to the floor along with my blade in sheath. My body without my consent flumps to the ground, I sit there in pain as the fur amongst my armour remains insufficient to aiding my body to be warm.

I look up to the ceiling looking at icicles formed from the never ending cold and snow; but my stay was short as a loud thud could be heard from within the darkness further down the cave. I reach across for my shield and blade and pull them close, the shield firm against my chest and blade in hand. The seconds pass as the thud grows louder and the tension in my muscles rises. There it was, a yellow eye with black pupil piercing through the darkness and into my soul. I change quickly into a battle stance and prepare for the worst; for I was quickly thrown off guard by a stream of fire heading at me. The shield remained close as the fire pours around the shield, I stay still but slowly in pain as the fire glances my arm and singes the flesh.

I pull myself up knowing in my mind what I was fighting and it was a foe I did not expect. I raise my blade high and shout ‘Come forth dragon of the mountain!’ That was the moment I knew I couldn’t turn back from this. I wait for it to charge to be swung to the floor from its tail from behind, somewhere I did not look. I hit the floor and place my singed shield in front of me as I prep for another attack. For it then showed itself, a dark grey dragon; its scales thick and large, its wings full spread. It looks down upon me and lifts its leg in order to crush me. I notice the icicles above from before and notice a rock an arms length but first shift my weight across the floor avoiding its leg from hitting.

I manage to reach the rock and lob it to the ceiling hearing a loud crack as they fall upon the dragon but only stabbing its leg that was exposed moments ago. I find this as my queue to leave the cave for more open ground. I limped to the exit with the dragon gaining chase; I make my way up the stairs once more knowing I was to be shortly followed. The dragon emerged from the cave and climbed its way after me, blood was pouring from its leg as the icicle remains lodged in the womb. It reached for me with another burst of fire which singed the back of my leg as I then fell to the floor. I raised my shield as it went to swipe me again but this time the impact cracked my shield rendering it useless.

I felt all my options fading fast but thought of one last attempt and threw my shield at its head stunning it briefly. I got up and climbed its leg using the icicle as a step up to get onto its back. It knew I was on it and tried hard to shake me off, but I managed to hold on. I climbed up its neck and to its head. I drew my blade and pierced it through its head before being flung off, it yelled and fire came from its mouth as blood stained the snow on the ground and my blade remained in its head. The dragon slowly died and slid down the mountain side, I look at it go down and breathe a sigh of relief only for that to be cut short by the pain in my side.

Blood poured from a womb made from an icicle on the rock, that I was impaled on. I couldn’t feel it because of the cold killing the nerves in my body. I use the last of my strength to pull myself off of it and onto the steps once again. But I knew my time has come to an end where my vision blurred and everything became slow. I slumped to the floor and looked up to the sky, this was my last moments as a trail of blood was all that was left from a battle I did not expect to win.

Moments pass as my eyes begin to fade, but to be surprised for the last time, of seeing a blurred figure in a cloak come towards me. The figure stood still and uttered the words ‘You’ve done me proud my son and now as you join me above, your child will become the last of the dragon born’ Only then did I know who it was but I could not open my mouth as my strength long perished. I manage to press a smile, as the figure faded away and as did my life. I was to join my father up in the sky, amongst the wise men and hunters of our land and to protect it with my legend.

(If you do not notice, the warrior was the father of the dragon born in the main game hence being the last of them)

I would think this will be moved to the Elder Scrolls Fan Fic section. I'd link you to it but I'm on a phone.

This is pretty well written, it sure did entertain me! :)

Now write another story that explains us why our hero starts in prison.

Well thank you :) It didn't take me long to write this so it means a lot to me :) And the prison concept for the main hero is maybe a good idea :P

Sorry about multiple posts but here is the next story of mine, involving why our hero starts off in prison (it links in with my previous story with the character in this case being his son the last dragon born in which he obviously doesn't know yet)

The Beginning of a larger journey

(Male Character version)

As I lay here on this splintered wooden bench looking at the dry iron shackles on my wrists clang as I try to scratch my arm. I look back on all the events that ended up with me being here, at the moment I can think of the first event that got me going down this path...the death of my mother and my village.

My family, I and a few others lived on the outskirts of Rifton. You could say it was a rather small settlement of people. We were in some troubled times hit by poverty, I was twelve when the event happened. It was only two weeks before that a fellow traveller brought news of my father’s death at the hands of a dragon. We were coping well, my mother especially doing her daily job up in Rifton as a shop assistant in cleaning on very low pay.

It was like any other day I would pretend to fight with sticks thinking they were blades and playing with the other kids pretending to be a warrior. It was my dream to be like my father but I knew I was to young as of the moment to follow in his steps. More than anything would I want to please my father, a son worthy of such praise. I went to bed that night looking forward to the morning knowing I was to be travelling north to meet my other family, but I was not to sleep but to awake to screams.

I remember my mother rushing into my room, grabbing me by arm and dragging me out the door. The settlement was engulfed in flame, bodies lie on the floor covered in blood and some with blades still in them. My mind was lost in confusion and panic, but my mother continued to press on with getting us out of there. It was a band of savages raiding for loot and money and materials to continue their lives, they slaughtered anyone who came into their blade.

We almost made it out in one piece until my mother tripped on a rock and twisted her ankle, she grabbed me and looked at me with tears streaming down her eyes ‘GO! GO WITHOUT ME, GET OUT OF HERE WHILE YOU STILL CAN!’ I remember standing there not moving but she insisted I leave by pushing me in the direction leading us out of this to me a nightmare. My mother tore her amulet off of her neck and gave it to me, she placed it on my chest and smiled as she said ‘I love you, I will always be with you’. As tears hit my eyes, I ran on strong for my mother’s sake, I got to the forest leading me to safety but as I look back I see one of the savages drag my mother into the flames, the settlement was lost.

After that many days passed as I wondered the forest plains until I couldn’t no more. I collapsed to the floor and looked up into the sky as a figure approached me and gave me their hand, a grabbed hold but then went to black. When I awoke I was amongst a warm cosy room with walls covered in texts I could not read and images I did not understand. A figure in a cloak appeared through the door and came towards me.

A voice could be heard, very old and wise but when spoke it felt like it was a god talking to you ‘You must be the son of the man who died not too long ago upon the mountain top’ I was confused, how did he know who I was or even my father for that matter. At the same time the figure took the hood off and revealed, it was an old Nord with a scar in the shape of a dragon across the left eye of him. He had a greybeard that curled along and grey hair that lay across the shoulders. ‘Well I can see it in your eyes my boy, the eyes tell a lot about someone and I can definitely see you are his son’.

After that moment, we spoke for a long time about what had happened and about my father. He offered me refuge and as well offered to teach me how to be like my father as he knew it was what I desired. I accepted his proposal and over the span of many years of teaching fighting, swords and many other warrior based skills. He became a father figure to me, someone to aspire to someone to talk to of my achievements in battle. We lived atop the mountain in which he told me the stories of many warriors like my father, the legend of the seven thousand steps and so forth. We lived amongst these wise elders named ‘The greybeards’ they told me many stories, it felt like the womb left by the loss of my mother was beginning to heal.

The time eventually came where I was to leave my teacher and father to me for I was to return to Rifton after many years. As I take my steps down the staircase of the seven thousand steps, my teacher told me that I would return to them one day soon, I myself knew it was true as leaving them was the hardest decision but for now I was to travel back to Rifton. Many weeks passed as I travelled my way back, almost reaching Rifton I came across a settlement in place of the one I used to live in or should say used to. It was completely different, yet the house I lived in remained. Looking at it just make me imagine the time in which it was engulfed in flame. But before I left I noticed that there were no females, they were all rugged men. I started to walk towards the main road to Rifton but was stopped by a rugged man, unclean and smelled.

He looked at me with a hatred in his eyes ‘Oi you, you’re not from around here are you? What makes you think you have a right to be on our land?’ I scanned the surroundings and more rugged men surrounded me, I lowered my hand to my belt and clenched the handle of my sword. They come to notice I was armed and hesitated at first, one of them looked at the one who was talking to me ‘ Lucious! This guys bloody armed!’ the man now known as Lucious looked for seconds more before pulling out a short blade of his own. ‘Looks like this new boy wants to play, come on let’s kill this bastard’.

Lucious lunged at me, I managed to dodge and reverse it by planting his blade into one of his partners chest. He stumbled over to the floor as I then fully pulled my blade out and cut up the entire attacking crew. Lucious slowly backed off watching his men being picked off one by one by my blade. After finishing off the last of them, I walked over to Lucious who attempted to stab me with a knife he found on the floor, I quickly reacted by slicing his head off. As his head rolled along the floor and came to a halt. I looked at it and saw it was the man that murdered my mother all those years ago. At that moment I yelled off of the top of my lungs, but then to a surprise was wacked from behind and fell to the floor and everything blacked out.

I woke up and noticed I was in a wooden cage being transported into Rifton by horse, I tried to get out of the cage to notice I was cuffed by my feet and hands. I can see as we travel past loads of families playing with their kids and having fun. At that moment my mind flashbacked to when I was a boy and me and my parents doing similar things, after seconds reality came back to me. I looked above the cage I was being held in, to see two men in full armour, a chest lay beside them with my sword and many other pieces of equipment I brought with me.

After a short travel we stopped. They got off their horses and opened the back, one grabs a sword and raises it towards me ‘Get out criminal scum’ I take a few steps off and out of the cage for them to be wacked across the head once more and passed out. And here I awoke in this cell, in the same cuffs, a troubled past, a moment of revenge for my family and now possibly my death sentence unless a miracle comes and helps me....
