Skyrim Farewell Dinner

Post » Fri Jul 22, 2011 3:12 pm

Definitely Option 1 for me. Taking the wife out to dinner at her favourite restaurant and then heading out the midnight Skyrim release (if there is one).

11/11/11 coincides with the end of my university course for the year too. So I imagine I will be an unmoving, cheezel-fingered, beanbag-dwelling slob after a few days of Skyrim.

It shall be glorious.

Well, I plan on balancing it all.. But, my girlfriend, who's not a very avid gamer but loves her Nintendo 64, saw a Skyrim highlight video that I'd posted to a friend's wall, and she came out of the blue and told me about how cool it looked... It was a happy moment :foodndrink:...

Oh, and I'd also make the meal, for I love to cook ...

biased poll is biased. The last option is your only option for a "No"? Sorry then I can't answer.

Shouldn't that first option also include boyfriend/husband for us girls out there? Well, okay, not for me since I have a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend who will probably have to miss me while I'm playing but she's not coming back to me till december so hopefully I'll have managed to tear myself away by then. Otherwhise that time is going to be very very awkward. Still, for all the other female players out there that do have boyfriends or husbands I demand satisfaction....or emancipation, take your pick. not sure how you spell it. I'm dutch, sue me. though preferably not, only have enough money for skyrim and one I'm-sorry-I'm-not-giving-you-attention dinner just in case. So please, don't sue me.

Apologies for catering for male heterosixuals and lisbians only in the poll. All Skyrim fans I know are male heterosixuals or lisbians.

I only have to see my for maybe 15 minutes day due to our work schedules and only once every 2 weeks have a shared off day. So I'm pretty much in the clear for about 8 hours of gameplay a day & 16 hours on 75% of my off days. Only thing skyrim will cut into is some housework & not going to the bar 2 nights a week. Hell Skyrim might just SAVE ME MONEY after a weeks and that's how I will justify paying for it,

you.....strangely enough have a point there. hmm, maybe I can get my girl to play it with me. Ought to be fun. :hubbahubba: roleplaying together apparently does wonders for a relationship...not sure if they meant this though

When Skyrim comes out, I'll spend just as much time playing games as I normally do, perhaps a little bit more. I'm not that selfish to neglect my loved ones over a game.

Not sure my wife would get into the role-play spirit. I imagine the only dragon-shout she will be using is "Get off the damn Xbox!"

More like a month (damn I'm planning taking vacation and sending out messages informing that I'm not dead, I'm just really bussy)

Once skyrim becomes available to purchase, other people will cease to be visible to me, so I won't be able to say good bye.

I'm trying to prepare my GF for 11-11-11, telling her that I'll be in an almost comatic state of mind for a month. But I'm afraid she dosen't understand it. The only games she like are Tetris and Pet Society on FB.

A dinner on the night of release sounds like a good idea. I might get her some flowers too.

THIS. My last human contact will be the clerk at EB Games handing me Skyrim then he, like everyone else, will simply disappear into a deep fog. I won't even hear his voice saying 'thanks, have a nice day' as all the sounds of the world will be instantly muted. My real life clairvoyance ability will light the fastest way home to the Xbox.

The day before Skyrim is out I will sit with my girlfriend and explain her I need extra time to enjoy a game.

If she considers myself too old for games, or gives me a hard time for simply enjoying one of my hobbies, I shall know we aren't made to be together

Anyway, If she is supportive and understanding I would consider proposing to her.

I hate having to apologize, justify or "earn" time for myself, and doing that for a lifetime seems quite similar to hell.

So let's wait and see.

i have no meaningful people in my life, and pretty much everyone hates me... so i think im good to go.

if i had a partner though, they'd be right by my side... cause unlike others, i go for compatible personalities.

being the most hated person in the world really does alot for me, really.

playing skyrim all by myself, laughing with myself... arguing with myself... hating myself.

life is good.

A cookie for sympathy? :cookie:

Well... a little bit of sympathy, I'm only at around #15 on the most hated people in the world list.

Well, the previous comment was quite the downer. That aside, I don't have a girlfriend and I'll probably be playing Skyrim in the same room with the people I'm attending the midnight release with. Sharing your experiences with fellow rpg players is always fun and leads to creative things to do. Pretty much it's the same plan I've taken with the release of FO3 and FONV.

What is a "girlfriend"? Is that one of the confirmed variants of dragon in Skyrim?

My brirthday is in November, so I've decided my gift will be some alone time with skyrim. I'll be using the "it's my birthday" line for the whole month too. As for a goodbye dinner type thing, [censored] no. If she knew I was goig to be "leaving" shed throw my pc out the window. It's better to do small things around the house, making her happy, and then saying "it's my birthday! Derp!". That will allow me to game for the whole month guilt free. After my charm and small helpful acts wear off, I suspect she will hide my power cord and force me back into reality.(this happened last year, the year before etc)
